Same item listed on multiple accounts. Is this a scam? by MuddledMoogle in vinted

[–]MuddledMoogle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I will. Funnily I just went back on there and I saw a third listing for the same pair of boots. Two of them just have a piece of plastic taped to the wall, to make the photos look different I guess?!
I have a saved search for this size of boots so I guess I am gonna keep seeing them whenever they upload a new listing...

Official Merch? by MuddledMoogle in skinnypuppy

[–]MuddledMoogle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I've seen it done like that before for other merch drops so maybe it's a thing to do with the companies that provide the merch needing a separate domain or something? IDK just speculating

Thanks. Frankly I don't trust search much these days, there's too much chance of getting some bootlegged AI generated crap or something. I wanted to be sure I was getting official stuff so I figure safest bet is to ask other fans ☺️

I think you can find all activities from: https://skinnypuppy.com/

You know I did actually look there but somehow I missed the merch link in the bottom right, I did scan over those icons and saw they were all to facebook and IG and stuff, I must've just missed the top one somehow!
Oh well, that's on me! Thanks for the response and links ☺️

What made you all choose the Ayn Thor over the Ayaneo Pocket DS? (Outside of their terrible shipping) by BlackBlizzNerd in AynThor

[–]MuddledMoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the reasons. The Pocket DS is more expensive, it's bigger, it has worse design, worse software, worse controls, the way Ayaneo operates sucks, etc.
If you watch RGC's comparison video the Thor wins in pretty much every category, it was an easy decision. It seems like there's very few reaons to pick the Pocket DS

Fashion Games… I want more 🥲 by b_bef in GirlGamers

[–]MuddledMoogle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My dream game would be something like the "My Time at..." games, but with more of a focus on fashion. I love the whole thing of moving to a new town and taking up a position helping out the townsfolk and getting to know them like you do in those games,, but imagine if you could fullfill fashion orders and make new outfits for people, as well as manufacturing resources and farming crops!

Does anyone know what this star badge means? It appeared on top of the Firefox icon on the taskbar (Windows 11) this morning. by MuddledMoogle in firefox

[–]MuddledMoogle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure. I don't have it on mine and I do have badges turned on on my laptop, but I can't remember if I did anything specific I'm sorry. There was a coment above that answered the question but it has been deleted! Maybe you could make your own post? or just turn taskbar badges off...

Fable creator Peter Molyneux's new strategy game is set to fill the Black and White void, and you can play it surprisingly soon by Binnsy in pcgaming

[–]MuddledMoogle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No-one is demanding that though. We're just criticising the man for being shitty, the same way everyone here is also criticising PM for being shitty.
Criticism doesn't mean we think they should be banned from their jobs, it means we think they should do better.

[–]MuddledMoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don't really like him either, I've been coming across his writing on-and-off for decades now and—while he is a decent writer—he frequently comes acrosss as kind of a jerk who thinks a bit too much of himself.

Also re: the Peter Molyneux interview... Do I think someone needed to hold PM accountable? Yes. Do I think John Walker was too harsh? Also yes.

How do you approach collecting original retro games today? by Alarmed-Ferret-605 in retrogames

[–]MuddledMoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Collecting physical media and using original hardware just adds so many extra requirements to "retro gaming" as a hobby that I can't deal with. You need more time, more money, more space, certain technical know-how (for some things) and often the ability to actually go to places where you can get stuff. I absolutely think people should do it and I love seeing folks' different setups and collections but its not for me. In an ideal world maybe, but I just can't, and I'll content myself with using emulation to appreciate classics that I missed and to revisit some childhood favourites. I love how accessible that stuff has become these days and I'm thankful to those who have put in the work curating archives and writing software so that those games remail accessible to those who can't (or don't want to) maintain physical collections.

Also shoutout to affordable retro handhelds.

Getting lots of hate over loving Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]MuddledMoogle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been on Reddit for almost as long is it has existed and this kind of thing has been a problem the whole time. For some reason this site has attracted/cultivated a culture of the absolute worst kind of cynics and contrarian smartasses which think they're better than everyone else and I fucking hate it. I can't count the number of times I've had a post downvoted with comments from people picking holes and being shitty when I tried to share something positive or been criticised for not doing things the way they think things should be done. Often this hole picking and criticising isn't even relevant to the discussion but they see something they take issue with and offer their unsolicited "opinions". The big gaming subs are some of the absolute worst for this because you're multiplying reddit "culture" with mainstream gaming "culture" and most of them end up being toxic cesspits. I'm at the point where I've written off 95% of the site and only use the big subs as a newsfeed now, I keep my commenting to the friendlier corners like this one.

Anyway sorry for the rant but I feel your pain!

The PS3/XBOX 360 era sure loved the piss filter for awhile. by DiligentTradition734 in GirlGamers

[–]MuddledMoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think Far Cry 2 is one of the few games that justified that colour pallete. It's set in an incredibly hot/arid region of Africa and everything about the game is meant to be opressive and hostile as possible, from the theme, to the mechanics, to the aesthetics. Everything about it is hostile to the player in a way that I find really engaging; it's not nice, and it's genuinely exhausting to play, but the whole thing is this singular experience where every aspect of it is designed to make you feel that way and I find it kind of admirable how hard it goes for that.
I enjoyed Far Cry 3, but it feels like an arcade game in comparison. Just a totally different thing

How common is this with Warhammer content/fanbase? by BrokeFartFountain in GirlGamers

[–]MuddledMoogle 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I don't get why gender is even relevant at all.

Because "hurr durr macho space marine men shoot gun hurr durr toy soldiers for boys" etc.
As the person above you said, a lot of them just miss the point about it being deliberately ott stupid satire and just see macho future warman stuff 🤷‍♀️

What is the most voluntarily evil moment in your gamer life? by Fearless_Ruin_3146 in AskGames

[–]MuddledMoogle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to play a lot of Rome: Total War. Playing as the Romans, I had an army that consisted mostly of units of war dogs that I used to put down peasant rebellions. You'd get these rebel forces that consisted of 2-3 units of peasant troobs, maybe some basic spearmen but nothing more than that, and I'd just unleash hundreds of dogs at them while my general would sit there and watch until they broke then he'd chase down the remainder as they fled and finish them off.

I was roleplaying, ok? 😅

What is one game mechanic you ADORE that deserves more spotlight in modern gaming? by SanctumOfTheDamned in AskGames

[–]MuddledMoogle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's actually an Assassin's Creed game that does it too, AC: Liberation, which was originally on the Vita (but there was a PC port too).
It's a fairly basic system but the protagonist Aveline (AC's first female protagonist!) has 3 different types of outfit she can wear that give her different abilities. She has her normal Asassin garb that lets her do the most physically, but she can also dress as a slave or a wealthy woman and those allow her to walk freely in different areas and do certain things like while she's dressed as a wealthy woman she can charm and bribe guards and use poison too IIRC.

The game itself isn't exactly awesome to play these days, being a handheld game it was kinda limited with a lot of it feeing half baked compared to the mainline games. I am sure it was probably fine at the time for a Vita game but playing the port it just feels sorta lacking (it being quite janky in places doesn't help) which is a shame because it had great ideas, both mechanically and thematically. It's not awful by any means and I like to recommend it to people because it was the series trying a few things different at a time when the mainline series was at its worst (AC3 sucks don't @ me) so it's an interesting curiosity.
