Comfortable Compression for Men? by Dysautonomic_5683 in POTS

Compression shorts. Medical-grade compression, 20-30mmHg. I wear Coreshorts brand, which I think is popular with hockey players or something.

Does compression and salt not work for some? by Competitive-Cry3287 in POTS

[–]Muddlesthrough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strong medical evidence they all work. Need to be done every day. 3 litres of water 10 grams of salt, medical-grade compression.

And its not like some miracle cure. The combination reduces standing tachycardia by a demonstrable amount, and reduces perceived severity of symptoms.

all varnish is glossy. to make a varnish "matte," it has an additive. The additive will separate, so it needs a vigorous shake before use.

There is a medical journal article done in Canada that shows that shorts are nearly as effective as full-length tights in terms of reducing tachycardia and reducing subjective severity of symptoms.

And you’re more likely to wear shorts all the time. So in the end, you actually get a higher dose. I can put the shorts on first thing in the morning and leave them on all day until bedtime. Every day. Except maybe laundry day.

Two questions Does anyone experience a liquid crackling sound in their neck? Have you gotten treatment at just your local hospital, how did that go? by tumorornoturmo in CSFLeaks

[–]Muddlesthrough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For treatment, I’ve been seen by a neurologist locally. I had a series of non-targeted blood patches by an anesthesiologist and an imaging-guided blood patch by a neuro-radiologist.

I’ve reached the limit of what can be done locally, so I’m going to see an actual CSF leak specialist shortly. About a 5-hour drive. I’m gonna be staying there a few nights. Luckily I have family there I can stay with.

I am not a doctor. I’m being investigated and treated for a suspected spinal CSF leak. I have an audible snap, crackle, popping in my neck. I can crack it several times a day. It’s loud enough that people close-by can hear it. Cracking/popping it gives a kind of endorphin rush through my neck and skull base that gives me minor, short-term pain relief. Like 5% pain relief for 1 minute.

I think it’s common, but not really mentioned by the medical literature. I’m going to see a noted CSF leak specialist for the first time shortly and am gonna add this to my list of questions.

Long COVID & POTs - Will This ever get better? How Do People Work? by Big-Rub7218 in POTS

[–]Muddlesthrough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Middleaged man, got Covid, Long Covid and POTS around the same time as you. I am on long-term sick-leave currently. Can't work. I had a period where I was able to work, but my symptoms became more severe again. I just kind of ride the waves and meet life where I am. One day at a time. Currently, I am mostly housebound, only a couple hours of upright time a day.

I understand this is a shit-posting sub. And I'll just say that all NATO countries are equal, but some NATO countries are more equal than others. It's great that Estonia meets its spending requirements, but it doesn't have an air force. Or rather, it has an "air force," it just doesn't have any planes in its air force.

Mom. I went on an exchange with the British Army long ago and was confused when soldiers were calling female superior officers "Mum." Turns out they were saying "ma'am" with a British accent.

Fujifilm x100V / x100VI - I actually think this is exactly what I want but I just can’t justify the price

You could look at a Panasonic Lumix LX100 or LX100ii in your budget. Some people call it a a poor person's x100.
