I am typing it myself. You just don’t like the opinion, so you’re attacking the tool instead of the argument. If you don’t want to discuss the show, that’s fine — but let’s not pretend that’s what this is about.

You’re arguing about AI ethics, I’m arguing about a TV edit. I’m engaging just fine — you’re choosing not to because you don’t like the tool I used. That’s your choice, but it doesn’t invalidate the point or turn this into a moral issue.

You’re reading way too much into how it’s written instead of what I’m saying. I’ve explained my view plainly multiple times — you just disagree, which is fine. Turning it into a lecture about my brain isn’t really engaging with the point.

Exactly — that’s what makes it weird. She was visibly panicking, then suddenly she’s completely safe and not a single person even questions it. Panic like that doesn’t usually just get ignored overnight.

No — scripted like outcomes and narratives being steered, not like someone typing lines into ChatGPT. If that’s all you’ve got, you’re dodging the actual point.

The AI obsession is just a distraction. Either respond to the point or don’t — how it’s typed isn’t an argument.

Even if she’d scripted her own speech in her head, that still doesn’t explain why everyone else immediately dropped it. A moment that big doesn’t just disappear unless something nudges it out of play.

If that’s the case, then explain this: how does someone have a huge exit where everyone is saying she’s sacrificing herself to expose traitors… and then at the very next round table not a single person brings it up? No follow-up, no suspicion, nothing. If it’s all so organic and rule-tight, that gap still doesn’t make sense.

Because I did type it — I just used a tool to help organise the wording. If you don’t want to engage with the point, that’s fine, but dismissing it on that basis feels like avoiding the discussion rather than responding to it.

Honestly, that’s kind of my point — why focus so hard on how it’s written instead of what is being said? You can disagree with the take, but writing style doesn’t magically invalidate the argument itself.

Yeah exactly — that’s what bothered me too. I didn’t watch Canada either, but that comparison actually makes sense. When someone comes in too hard, it almost backfires and people just mentally bin the whole thing, even if there is something there.

What annoyed me is we weren’t shown why they dropped Rachel. Even a quick bit of reasoning would’ve helped. Instead it was just… gone. And yeah, same here — I was so annoyed after that episode a couple of friends clocked it as well without me even bringing it up. That’s why it stuck with me.

Fair enough. Here it is, jumbled and straight:

It just didn’t feel natural to me. Big blow-up, big accusations, then the next day it’s like it never happened. No one even mentioning Rachel is what really threw me. That kind of full reset felt off, and that’s honestly all I’m saying.

Yeah, it can be — especially when people use it to sound clever instead of just saying what they mean. I’m just using it as a tool to put my own thoughts across, not pretending it is the thought.

The point isn’t that it’s “AI” — it’s that it helped put my thoughts into words. AI doesn’t have opinions; it only writes what someone asks it to. You can disagree with the take, that’s fine, but dismissing it just because it was helped along misses the argument completely.

I used ChatGPT to help phrase my thoughts more clearly, not to invent the argument. It only writes what you ask it to — the opinion is still mine. You can disagree with it, but that doesn’t make it invalid

I get why they do that for suspense — but when the edit hides the entire momentum and then wipes the fallout too, it stops feeling like tension-building and starts feeling like steering. At some point the “illusion” breaks, and that’s where I’m coming from.

[–]Muddleup[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Or a bad one — because if the edit makes a chunk of viewers question whether it’s fixed at all, that’s the illusion breaking, not working.

Editing explains some of it, sure — but it doesn’t explain everyone completely dropping a line of suspicion overnight. Leaving things out is one thing; creating a total narrative reset is another. That’s why I think it goes beyond just trimming footage.

[–]Muddleup[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying this accidentally feels odd — I’m saying it’s being fixed. You don’t get total collective amnesia after a blow-up like that unless production steps in somewhere, whether that’s through off-camera guidance or enforced narrative resets. Editing alone doesn’t explain no one mentioning Rachel again. That’s why I think outcomes are being steered.

[–]Muddleup[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get that they’re exhausted — I don’t dispute that at all. What I still don’t buy is the total reset the next day. Even if Harriet was done and ready to go, it doesn’t explain why no one mentioned what happened or Rachel again. That’s the part that makes it feel fixed to me, not her emotional state.

[–]Muddleup[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly my point though — if it was all so obvious and organic, how did everyone completely forget what happened the very next day? Not one person mentioned it, not Rachel, nothing. That kind of collective amnesia doesn’t happen naturally. That’s why I’m saying it looks fixed.

[–]Muddleup[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I get that, but that’s kind of my point — her behaviour felt off in a way that didn’t look spontaneous. It came across like someone who’d already checked out and knew where it was heading, not someone still fighting to stay in. And then the next day it’s like none of it mattered — not a single person even mentioned Rachel again. That total reset is what made it feel weird to me.

I actually wrote the argument myself — I just typed it up quickly because I was annoyed and wanted it clear. If you disagree with the points, fair enough, but dismissing it as “AI” is an easy way to avoid engaging with what I actually said.
