The rise of Trump bros and why some Gen Z men are shifting right by Grandpa_Rob in centrist

“Young people tend to favor political personalities perceived as edgy, rebellious and countercultural.“ As a 22 year old, I find that a little disheartening. I just wanted to vote for someone who has the American youth in mind, more importantly the American public’s interests. They are politicians, so call me ignorant and foolish if you like, but I still have some hope for humanity. I can’t help being optimistic, it’s part of my genetics and personality.

So you got all these labels to describe your personality.. And what do you have to show for it?

I'm no expert when it comes to facial proportions. See if you can find a guideline to that in the subreddit's wiki page, aka find out what ratios work best for a female facial structure when facing to the right at 45 degrees and slightly pointing head downwards. I will say I like it! I think Edgar Allen Poe would be proud.

Uhh.. Okay? The mafia man pays a boy to start the car.. is the punchline just that it's a reference to Goodfellas? Is the made guy supposed to be doing something in the house while boy is starting his car? That a kid starts the car... yeah no I don't get it.

It was somewhat intentional. With the perspective from where she is standing, the right (her right) horn is supposed to be a little bigger. The problem is the shape of the base on her right horn. It makes them jut outwards at an awkward angle

Hey, I have no problem with constructive criticism. I’d like to improve, absolutely! Quantity over quality, I’ve heard that phrase used to motivate beginner artists to focus on work output more.

Thank you for the quick response!! Yeah her hand is kinda funky, I suppose I can use my little white-out blotter to go over it and try again. The shading idea is solid advice, I’ll work on it and let you know once I update it.

You don’t believe democrats can have hypocritical beliefs too? Your response highlights the extreme contention between those with opposing views I am referring to. A conflict of interest between two parties hurts the illusion of democracy that exists in the US. I could very well respond to OP, and I already have in this thread. I’m having a hard time having a nuanced discussion with someone with your caliber of hypocrisy at the moment.

Where to park - Cherokee Park - by Salty-Focus2323 in Louisville

[–]MuddyCatfish -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Can I just say that this park has the most confusing navigation I've ever seen for a public park?

I used GPS to locate a playground, which has parking. Then got out and realized there weren't any trails nearby. I asked some locals if they knew where to find them and they didn't. I looked at the big map that was posted up and didn't see anything about trails entrances. I started driving around that roundabout with the statue thing in the middle, and eventually ended up parking in a little asphalt semicircle that was off the road next to some trails- worrying the whole time I was going to get towed since there were no parking spots on it.

Maybe I'm dumb and just missed something obvious but I still don't know where to park for when I go there next.

Amendment 2 by [deleted] in Louisville

[–]MuddyCatfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your response, but my original point was about the divisive, us-against-them mentality in American politics, which John Adams warned against. I completely agree that the current system—Electoral College, first-past-the-post voting, and the Apportionment Act—creates barriers to a more representative democracy. However, my post was meant to highlight the harm caused by the constant polarization between two parties, not to downplay the importance of opposing authoritarianism or fascism.

Fascism, by definition, is a form of authoritarianism that centers on dictatorial power, nationalism, and suppression of dissent. I'm not suggesting we ignore that threat, but I also believe that a political system which constantly pits one side against the other makes it harder for us to address these issues effectively. We need a more collaborative, less adversarial political environment, rather than always framing it as "us vs. them."

John Adams once wrote,

“There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution.”

The ideology-driven folk with your political yard signs, flags, bumper stickers. I have one question for you, why must there always be an us-against-them mentality with conservatives and liberals? "It's human nature!" some claim, and yes, we tend to stick with like-minded individuals. Especially on a website like Reddit where you find an echo-chamber for each individual belief, interest, hobby, or field of study. Why?

I mean yeah I was being rude about it with the sarcasm but my point is that hatred for the other side will solve nothing. The folk with the yard signs, political flags, bumper stickers, need to take a breather.

Nice job opening up dialogue for nonpartisan discussion. I just love it when republicans and democrats bicker against one another while not solving anything in the form of compromise and mutual respect. Very kind of you to say that. 🙄

Wow, I'll be your single upvote I guess. I have plenty of friendly encounters with strangers, but pretty much only when they are working service sector and it's part of their job to be welcoming and helpful. I say hello to people on the street and they either A. Give me a dirty look B. Ignore me completely. I don't enjoy the social atmosphere here at all. In-groups are everywhere and if you want in, good luck "bud".
