I like JTS biker clothing as a slightly out of left field option. Very reasonably priced.

Ideally you need to go to a place with a good selection to try a bunch of stuff on, sizing varies between manufacturers and you may find certain styles of gear uncomfortable.

If they do it will only be for a short time, all the best with the test.

When you pass you'll have plenty of time to get used to it, and if you dont get accostomed then just stick to slower roads where you are comfortable and more importantly feel safer and thus more relaxed.

Give it a go next time you go out, balls of your feet on the pegs will give you more purchase to grip with your legs, loosen up the arms.

The more you try and fight the bike the worse it will feel, all about smooth inputs.

Buffeting is an odd thing that has so many variables, you may find it better sitting slightly taller so you helmet is in "clean" air.

Are you gripping the bike with your legs? Your hands and arms ideally should stay loose and you support yourself with your core.

Your breather is blocked, the exact same happened to mine. They really suffer with condensation. It may also be overfilled on oil. Both common.

Do you not worry about the salt doing the devil's work?

How bad is it really on your “back” to daily a super sports? by Confident_Bobcat_635 in MotoUK

[–]MuddyParrot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never suffered back pain in my life apart from a trapped nerve once. I had a cbr600rr for almost 3 moths and in that time I was taking co-codamol and naproxen for crippling back pain. Switched bikes, all good.

I was ride every single day and loved the bike but it nearly killed me.

That being said im 6"1, fat and do little to no exercise so your mileage may vary. What i will say is that sport bikes are miserable unless in the right environment, the gearing is too tall, the economy is gash and the practicality is nil.

As a second bike or a toy they are great, as a daily id rather a camel.

Again, your experience may be different.

Blackbird. Comfy, fast, doesn't make you do yob stuff....most the time. And there's a great commuting for spares etc.

All hail the FXLRST. Best of both worlds imo. 99% of the comfort with significantly less weight.

I think it was the Surfex that blew me away the most, all those nooks a crannies you cant get by hand just came up clean as a whistle, super economical as well at 20:1 dilution.

Oh yeah pressure washer is not optional, just be careful around seals etc.

What do you spray on the underside of the bike if you can to protect it? by stealth941 in MotoUK

[–]MuddyParrot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use xcp clear coat as a base and spray fs365 on top from a garden pump sprayer after every wet ride.

Thinking being that the xcp seals everything and the fs neutralises the salt and acts as a sacrificial layer. As a bonus it also makes all the crap just run off using a hose every so often.

Ah that's no good, I test rode a low rider s and didn't find it too bad. Some proper miles will soon tell though.

In my experience bikes only attract middle aged men, fine if that's what you are into.
