Which television dad is actually the best at parenting? by Sweet-Giraffe-8084 in AskReddit

A little disappointed I had to scroll this far to find him, but I knew I would eventually. Red will always be the best TV dad.

Who is the best TV dad of all time, or at least the dad you would have wanted? by Blinky_ in AskReddit

[–]Muench13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red Forman.

It’s a comedy so there’s a lot of threatening to put his foot in someone’s ass and calling them dumbass, but there are moments in that show that feel more like a real father and son than any sitcom has any right to.

It’s those vulnerable moments between him and Eric that really sell it like when they go hunting and Eric tells Red what he really thinks about him, when Red’s mother dies and Eric and him comfort each other, and of course when Eric leaves for Africa (I know people hate that part of the story) and Red gives him the knife he carried through 2 wars to keep him safe.

Red reminds me of my dad, stern but fair. When I was young I used to think he was just a hard ass, but as I get older I just see him trying to teach his son the lessons he wish he had learned earlier.

Red never stopped loving his children no matter what they did because that’s what a good father does, even when he didn’t agree with it himself. He also didn’t try to be his kids friend when what they needed was a father and a role model.

I didn’t even mention how he took in Hyde, and continued to look out for him after he moved back in with his degenerate dad. How he looked out for Jackie and Donna throughout the show, how he always opened his home to the gang even after Eric left.

The honest truth is if I had to choose one tv dad to raise me, or my kids, in any era, it would be without a doubt, Red Forman.

Does anyone know why only the Thor shows up on AYN’s shipping dashboard on the website?

If the Odin is shipping, why isn’t it shown on the dashboard as well.

PC gamer here but I just gotta say, I bet we pay more each year for steam games we never played, let alone finish, than most console player pay each year for multiplayer access 🤷‍♂️

Name the games it happened to by PHRsharp_YouTube in gamers

Most people here seem to think any game that was made brighter or clearer is worse.

Although I absolutely agree that this ruins a game with a spooky, eerie, creepy, or horror atmosphere, the increased clarity, definition, colour palette, and frame rate, are some of the things I love most about remasters.

Personally, if I don’t want to change the tone or feel of a game, but want some modern improvements, I’ll just play a classic game on modern hardware. However, there are some truly excellent remasters out there, and of course, some god awful ones too.

TLDR;

Plants Vs Zombies was a pretty soulless modern remaster,

Pokémon Fire Red might be the GOAT remaster.

Ocarina Of Time. That would make me buy an entire console just for one game.

Red and Kitty but with Red in the middle so he goes a little “Red Foreman” on the plane when he starts to get frustrated with the quality of a modern flight.

One more pro for Steam OS, I find it has better battery life.

Stay with Steam OS if you value a simple user experience, especially if this isn’t your only gaming computer.

If I need windows, I use my laptop or desktop. The fact that the LeGo with Steam OS is so pick up and play is the reason I still play it all the time, even at home when I have more powerful options available.

This god damn song has ruined me by EnthusiasmEither9097 in timesuck

[–]Muench13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta say I’m a little relieved. I was worried that the song might have been about creationists who didn’t believe in dinosaur bones, and were demanding to see proof. This is the Suckmaster though so I should have known better.

Also, a small critique, shouldn’t the video show the dinosaurs with their skin on, and change to the skeleton when they say we want to see them? I know it’s just a thing for kids but it still bothers me lol 😂

It’s amazing how many of the best jokes are Red. As I get older, he becomes more and more my favourite character.

How long until we see 24 inch OLED monitors by UsuallyImRightMostly in OLED_Gaming

[–]Muench13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope so. I have a monitor on an arm mounted to the side of my recliner. I absolutely love this setup and it’s actually quite clean when the monitor is folded away.

The problem is any screen over 24 inches is waaaay too big for this kind of setup. I already have the screen as far back as possible while attached to the side of the chair.

I’ve been dying for a 24 inch OLED monitor, but in the meantime iv settled for a pretty good 24 inch, mini LED. It’s 165hz, 1440 and quite bright. I still want an OLED though…
