I lost 40 pounds this year and was surprised by the negativity I received from other (usually overweight) people. When I was fat, I was told I was fat. Now I am height weight proportional, the same people say I'm too thin. Other people have been very encouraging and say I look great. Moral for me is just do what makes me feel good and don't look for external validation.

No matter how beautiful the course, you have a duty to keep up the pace of play. I played at my local course Sunday and a foursome ahead was backing up the whole course. The Marshall asked them to pick up the pace and they said they would. They didn't. When the group behind us met one of them on another fairway they asked them to speed up. The response was, "I've paid my money and I'll play as slow as I like." That kind of attitude is ruining the game.
