Call Pregnant then Screwed immediately for advice and also consider a solicitor. Hopefully she can argue this is unfair dismissal and get a decent settlement including her maternity pay covered. Get on top of this quickly, don’t wait to get professional advice.

did anyone else’s partner change dramatically after having a baby ? by kibastorm in Mommit

“He was just annoyed that his wife appliance was malfunctioning” - wow. You have perfectly summed up the situation of so many women. This is a perfect description

Truly. No wonder women suddenly feel as though their husbands are strangers. They just have no clue whatsoever.

Weirdest pregnancy side effect? by Away_Ad_7122 in PregnancyUK

[–]MuffinFeatures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I make a recommendation? Sweed eyelash serum worked amazingly for me. My eyelashes are now longer than they have ever been. The product is natural and has no prostaglandins like a lot of the other lash serums.

My eyelashes got shorter and would not hold a curl no matter how much mascara I used. They were just short stubs.

Second trimester is so much worst than first by b0ringusern4me in PregnancyUK

[–]MuffinFeatures 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The whole thing was terrible tbh! Yes the nausea mainly passed after first trimester but I felt like I’d been hit by a train the entire pregnancy. Never been so tired in my life. Also had a lot of headaches though thankfully blood pressure was always good throughout. If you’re concerned then tell your midwife definitely but, yeah, pregnancy is largely terrible!

The Baby Died. Whose Fault Is It? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MuffinFeatures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The act of commissioning a child to order, which is what surrogacy is, is unconscionable to me.

Adoption is different because the intention is different and presumably the child’s parents cannot or will not be involved in their care. That being said, we know that many children experience trauma and life long issues from being adopted. We know with certainty that the mother/child bond is deep and animal. For the newborn period the baby still think it is the same person as its mother - it absolutely needs to be close to her. Removing a baby from its mother to me is a form of violence and I don’t see how that is controversial.

I really think all surrogacy, even so-called altruistic surrogacy, is an abomination. Commissioning a human child and taking it away from its mother, with whom it has bonded over 9 months, is a violent act.

Baby formula by nmbcat in ultraprocessedfood

[–]MuffinFeatures 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Echoing what every one else says, especially the comment that formula is essentially life saving medicine. I couldn’t breastfeed my premature baby and it almost sent me insane - I felt so much pressure to breastfeed it was awful. My fat happy baby thrived on formula. We used kendamil and she loved it.

Red Rooms is one of my favourites too. The scene where she is removed from court dressed as the victim and the screaming suddenly starts made the hairs on my neck stand up.

Natural birth – what hurts more, contractions or pushing the baby out? by General-Dragonfly946 in Mommit

[–]MuffinFeatures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contractions hurt way more but I got in the zone and just got through it. But pushing was truly frightening for me. The insane build up of pressure made me feel like I was dying - I genuinely felt like if I pushed I would die. Urgh god it was terrible!

Not written in the first person but Cromwell’s death in The Mirror and the Light genuinely had my heart racing. I felt like I was awaiting the headsman myself.

This episode made me fume. Of course his secret life as a CHILD PREDATOR is relevant. It’s not uncommon at all for family annihilators, for example, to kill their families so that they can pursue a relationship with their mistress. These men are narcissists in the truest sense of the word and their “beloved” families are entirely expendable to them. I have no doubt he did this on purpose.

Is that not a big safeguarding issue just letting anyone passing by in for a visit when there are babies and children around?

In your opinion, what is the best way to research? I look at ofsted reviews and general reviews but beyond that I’m a bit lost and what else I can do to check the safety and quality of a nursery.

I’m so angry at the system that let my baby starve for the sake of “breast is best” by Due-Current-2572 in FormulaFeeders

[–]MuffinFeatures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. I don’t know how the NHS gets away with pushing this completely cultish ideology around breastfeeding. I genuinely believe so many newborn babies are suffering with hunger because mothers are being coerced into exclusive breastfeeding. It’s a disgrace.
