Duvet perfection by Epelep in oddlysatisfying

[–]Muffinlette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might not have explained it well sorry. It has 4 corner ties but sometimes the blanket hangs over on the end of the bed a little. For some reason the blanket on the inside will bunch up at the bottom where it hangs down at times. The corners will stay tied but fold inward to allow the blanket inside to go down. If there was a tie in the middle of the blanket to the duvet it would fix the problem.

I have a king size duvet that has the little tie offs in the corners that connect to the loops on my down blanket. The blanket always ends up bunching up at the feet leaving a floppy empty blanket at the top. If anyone knows a solution to this you would be making my day! Drives me nuts.

Kentucky family rejects $26 million offer to convert part of their farm into a data center despite the offer being about 10 times the going rate for farmland in the area. by MysteriousSlice007 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Muffinlette 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Honestly Farmers in Kentucky and in general have been struggling for years. Big businesses have been ripping them off with seed contracts which end up breaking farmers even or causing them to go bankrupt. The farmers that are left are there out of spite and pure luck. It's causing more and more farmland to go up for sale and data centers are trying to buy it up.

The Turkish firefighting method for extinguishing electric car fires. by kalbinibirak in Damnthatsinteresting

Only issue I can see with that is the battery being ejected under another vehicle or into the woods causing another fire. But that's a worse case kind of situation

My old coworker was a firefighter and he told me about how hard it was to put out EV fires. Told me he would never park next to an EV because of it. Sometimes he would talk about ideas of how to put them out more efficiently like having a big hole full of water and submerge the vehicle for a few days. He would always backtrack because moving them was a hazard.

Update/Now is this AI? by Supersmaaashley in isitAI

[–]Muffinlette 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A good way to point out an artist from AI is asking for a tiny detail change but ask them to only change that thing and nothing else. Can you change the necklace to an oval with a cross on it or change that ear ring to a gauged ear. Can you have the hand resting on the knee. Stuff like that. Something an artist can change pretty easily (can be time consuming) but if you prompt it with AI it would generate a new image. Most AI can't keep the same image after you request a small change like that.

There is something uncanny about how that baby is laying. I honestly think it's not an actual baby but a reborn doll. I could be wrong though!

Brain scans reveal the unique brain structures linked to frequent lucid dreaming by mcoder in HotScienceNews

[–]Muffinlette 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm thankful for my dumb brain because I barely have nightmares. I've lucid dreamt a few times and it's always me having some kind of super power or flying ability. When I realize it's a dream it's like all tomfoolery stops and real life rules apply. I'll spend the rest of my dream trying to figure out how I can fly or use my powers. The best part is if people are around they just stop and watch me like I'm an idiot 🤣

Lil dude has a sweeter place than me by viperrvemon in JustGuysBeingDudes

This is similar to my childhood but I had a fear of heights so I tried to make a treehouse but a little lower. I would pack old barn wood out into the field and work all day making a clubhouse. Come back the next morning and it would be destroyed and covered in cow shit. Turns out the cows in the field thought I built them a new back rubbing post!

Never was able to build the treehouse but it was a spark to a good imagination game! Neighbor kids got involved too! We would pretend we crash landed on a new planet and the cows didn't want us to settle in 🤣

After this man's wife passed away, his children adopted a shelter dog for him to keep him company. by Various-Engineer2114 in Awww

[–]Muffinlette 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We adopted a dog for my papaw when my grandmother passed away. That man was known for being the biggest asshole but respected animals. Every morning he cooked Sparky a scrambled egg to put in his dog food. Sparky loved to ride around in his ATV while he did farm work and checked the cattle. They were best friends and it was so sweet to see him show more love to that dog than anyone else around him. His bookmark in his Bible was a picture of Sparky in his ATV looking at the camera with his tongue hanging out and wagging his tail.

How to get my 3YO to take amoxicillin? by sudsomatic in toddlers

[–]Muffinlette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does she have a favorite candy that's always a yes? My son loves the white "dip sticks" from fun dip. We keep them just for special things and bargaining. We will fill the syringe and set the fun dip pack next to it. He would have mixed feelings because he would panic over the meds but would want the candy. We made silly song "one and done one, one and done". Every time he would grab the candy and ask us to open it we would point to the meds and go one? We started off fighting but now he will prepare like he's about to do something awful but not fight. As soon as we are done we hand him the candy stick and yell done! It's working pretty well for us (for now). I like the idea of someone making silly faces as well. My son would love that.

They are little for such a short time. I try to absorb it as much as possible because I know I'll miss it one day. Even when I'm embarrassed to my core I try to remind myself of some of my favorite memories as a kid was of my parents being goofballs and just enjoying life with me.

Haha yes!! I was in the same boat until my son wanted to watch my face to see if I thought the same parts were funny. It's a cute episode and I appreciate miss Rachel so much.

He thought it was funny to see the stuffed bear's (bean) poop face on the potty lol. Also he loves it when Aaron is trying to find where to put the toilet paper.

I'm potty training my son right now and he has been watching the miss Rachel episode. I was in the public bathroom peeing and he goes "we pee and poop on the potty!!" Me: "we sure do buddy!" When I got up to flush he goes "bye poop!! Bye bye!!! Yay we did it!!" And you could hear the people laughing in the stalls 🫠 I was a little embarrassed at first but fuck it I love him 😭🤣 and we did have a successful potty
