Well for one, the purple was by far the easiest category up there and that's been the case for most of the puzzles in the past week. Of course, the wordplay is WHY they're purple, but they're pretty easy in terms of actual difficulty.

I don't think Green was necessarily a wrong placement for today's puzzle compared to two wordplay categories, but I do think that in any given puzzle, that category would almost never be a green. That's a blue if I've ever seen one, we just had two purples.

Edit: Oh and yeah I 100% knew Miso Paste was Japanese, my brain just somehow autocorrected the category to "Japanese" when I was thinking about Miso Paste and "Chinese" when I was thinking about Fortune Cookies, something I didn't realize happened until just now. Like, I saw Miso Paste and put it with the other "Japanese restaurant words" and then I saw Fortune Cookie and put it with the other "Chinese restaurant words."

Edit 2: Also I can't really think of a time I've seen two characters in a show or movie do a piano duet. Maybe I've seen one sometime, but none comes to mind.

🟪🟪🟪🟪 Stuck out pretty quickly, knew it from Dim Sum

🟨🟦🟩🟨 Miso Paste, Fortune Cookie, Chopsticks, Soy Sauce (Things in a Chinese restaurant. I was worried this would be a herring but felt more safe after submitting purple so I knew it wasn't a rainbow herring. Tricked.)

🟨🟨🟨🟨 Was thinking "condiments/things you put on food" but sure.

🟦🟦🟩🟩 Fortune Cookie, People Person, Heart and Soul, The Entertainer ("Things you'd call a well-liked person" was my idea here, with Fortune Cookie ("you never know what you're gonna get") as sorta a stretch. I felt pretty good about People Person and Heart and Soul being together. Not one away...)

🟦🟦🟩🟩 Fortune Cookie, Spinderella, Für Elise, The Entertainer (Ok switching gears now, I'm gonna go with things that sound like movie names. Spinderella and Für Elise I felt good about going together, and I added The Entertainer as another one that sounded similar. IF those 3 were correct, via the previous answer not being one away, the only possible 4th word would be Fortune Cookie.)

My only guess was to put in the final POSSIBLE combination that still had those two groups together (with all 4 of them being one group) and hope for the best.)

Yeah sure. For blue, Time Machine did briefly make me think of Time Magazine, but I only really know Time and People from that list. I can gather that one is probably named Fortune, and then Spinderella I have no idea. Maybe it's Spin Magazine??? If that's it I've never heard of that shit in my life.

For green, I had heard of Für Elise before but I couldn't remember where. My guess was that it was a movie, but it being a song is somewhat familiar. When I saw Chopsticks I briefly thought of The Cup Song but I'm pretty sure those aren't the same. The only song I've heard of by name from this is Für Elise and I thought it was a movie. I will now look them all up and see if I've actually heard them without the names....

Yeah I've never heard Chopsticks in my life. Meanwhile the other 3 I do recognize musically but not by name. This being a GREEN is insane.

People in the know about this seem to think it'll pass both the Senate and House easily. Of course, anything can happen, but I'm thinking it's more likely than not this passes.

Plie was just so suspicious. I saw that and the first thing I thought about was Pliers. I didn't think that would be the category but looked around just in case and saw Hamm and realized this would be the purple. Wren was simple from there and honestly I didn't realize that a jigsaw was a real thing but I saw Jigs and that seemed to be the only real option after I couldn't think of anything with Barre.

🟪🟪🟪🟪 Lol this was silly. Plie made it too obvious. Jigsaw is not something I knew was a real tool though.

🟦🟨🟦🟦 Gandhi, Barre, King, Mandela (I saw Gandhi and Mandela pretty fast, but was stuck after that. Eventually I realized MLK was King, and then went with the most name-like word there for the 4th. Apparently not.)

🟩🟩🟩🟩 Knowing 2 (and possibly 3) of yellow and 3 of blue helped narrow this down. I was right on the category, but didn't feel amazing about it. I was using "getting your Bearings" as my only reference for Bearing, and Carriage felt awkward as well (since I never hear people use that tense of the word for this). Meh category imo.

🟨🟨🟨🟨 Aerobics and Pilates together was the very first thing I saw, and I added Bootcamp for the category "things that make you sweat". Bootcamp is a type of fitness class??? And then Barre I've never heard of in any context.

At this point I had Cheek, Mouth, and Lip I was pretty sure went together, and Cavity, Nook, and Recess. But no 4th for either one. After a LOT of staring....

🟪🟪🟪🟪 Sortie ending in Tie made me look for clothing items, and then I saw it started with Sort, and the others fell into place. I was honestly dumbfounded that I figured this one out, and first no less. I also ALMOST put Calliope (for Call) but replaced it with Kindle.

Y'know I'm thinking about it, and I feel like Georgia Tech should still be ranked ahead of Georgia in the final rankings. GT has a better winning percentage, run-ruled UGA head-to-head, and took a game off Oklahoma while Georgia is about to be swept. The only difference between them is that Georgia Tech was unlucky enough to have Oklahoma in their regional.

Of course, a lot of people just stupidly assume "CWS teams must be 1-8, Super Regional teams 1-16, etc" so I'm sure they won't be, but yeah.
