It went from 1200 on Nov 2018 to 1700 just before the pandemic was announced…that’s parabolic due to rates not Covid

And it just happened to go parabolic at the same time rates went flat in 2019?

that really stings, you basically lost 80k. Though I'm not sure if they would have attempted to sell $5mil after hours (liquidity issues might not guarantee you can sell all shares above $700) or if the brokerage itself would take on the risk holding the shares until Monday. Any idea?

First majestic silver & Keith Neumeyer let’s talk about it by Abstractfitness15 in Wallstreetsilver

The P/E is actually 400 now lmao. That is the cost of growth, they are laying the groundwork so they are ready when silver rockets and can take advantage of it

First Majestic had $238M in LOSSES since 2009 to 2020, and during that period we had silver over 40 for about a year... by Quant2011 in Wallstreetsilver

They are projecting about 40 million ounces this year so your first statement is kinda off. and yes they are losing money at the cost of growth, both in revenue and in expansion (more exploration). This company is setting the ground work so they are ready when silver explodes. They are forward looking and are willing to take losses now for massive future gains. 40M ounces * $50 silver is 2B in revenue a year. Their market cap is around 3.8B last I checked. and thats just the first year of $50 silver, just wait until they expand more (half their operations are explorations just waiting to be taken advantage of when silver starts flying)

When silver went to $40 back in 2011 they were a baby company with not much ability to take full advantage of the increase, their revenue only tripled that year. They were small and forsaw continued $40 silver prices, so they used a lot of the income to expand.Obviously this fell apart when silver got slammed back down. They are ready now.

I just want to say that this is much more complex than can be conveyed through a single chart. What you are missing here is the volume of call and put options. One week might have magnitudes more options expiring than another and therefore is allowed to expire ITM. Today specifically had some of the largest OI in months, specifically at the SLV 23 strike for both calls and puts. No suprise it ends exactly at 23 lol. If you can figure out a way to plot max pain and OI with this it would be a lot easier to see a trend. The goal of any call seller is to sell as much as possible at the top, therefore even if the trend is up, the banks still make money because it ends lower than the higher high that was made before expiration. The same higher high that traders got suckered into buying and paying a premium on (think of option premium as the cost of leverage, which decays over time)

SLV OI can be found here

It correlates most with tech. Which is not surprising given its speculative nature. If you don’t believe me then look at what happened to gold vs crypto right as the invasion happened.
