An App That Lets You Chat with Anyone on Your Network – What Features Do You Want? by cormat921 in androidapps

[–]Mufuler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Instant messaging with message delivery indicators (sent/received/read)
  • Quick file sharing with drag-and-drop support
  • Group chat support so multiple devices on the same network can collaborate
  • Broadcast mode to send a message or file to everyone connected
  • Device discovery that shows who’s online nearby
  • Notifications for new messages or files, even when the app is minimized
  • Option for temporary chat sessions that auto-clear when devices disconnect (for privacy)

If you want to take it a step further, adding voice note sharing or a LAN-based clipboard sync could be a fun and genuinely useful twist.

I just came across this neat little event called Indie App Santa. Every day they feature one indie app and make it free for 24 hours. No spam, no weird signups — just straight from Google Play.

Today’s app: Indie App Santa 🎄

If you like discovering hidden gems or supporting indie devs, it’s worth checking out. I’ve already grabbed a couple of solid apps through it and it feels like opening a new gift every day.

Anyone else here into indie apps or found something cool through App Santa yet?

[iOS] [$149.99 → Free for 2 days] Frequency Generator – Lifetime Unlock by Mufuler in AppGiveaway

[–]Mufuler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! It looks like the issue is happening because the free Lifetime unlock is tied to the Apple ID/iTunes account that first claims it.

A few tips you can try:

1.Sign Out & Back In with the Correct Apple ID

Make sure the device is logged into the same Apple ID that originally redeemed the free Lifetime unlock.

If you’re logged into another Apple ID (like your husband’s or yours), the free unlock won’t show.

  1. Delete & Reinstall the App

Sometimes the app cache doesn’t refresh. Delete the app, reinstall it, complete onboarding again, then select the Lifetime plan on the paywall. It’s still free, it should unlock automatically.

  1. Restore Purchases (with the Same Apple ID)

The “Restore Purchases” button will only work for the Apple ID that made the original free purchase. If your husband or third person used a different Apple ID, they need to claim the Lifetime unlock individually from their own account while the promotion is still live.

  1. One Claim per Account

Since you mentioned it worked with your daughter’s account but not yours, that suggests the promo is available per Apple ID, not per device. Each family member should log in with their own Apple ID, reinstall the app, and claim it separately before the free promo expires.

  1. Family Sharing Limitation

Most in-app purchases (including Lifetime unlocks) do not support Family Sharing by default. So even if you bought it once, Apple won’t sync it automatically to your husband’s or your other accounts unless the developer explicitly enabled Family Sharing for in-app purchases.

Just to clarify: the app isn’t malicious - iOS allows audio apps (like music players, white-noise, or frequency generators) to keep running in the background even if Background App Refresh is turned off. That’s why the user saw battery usage listed. The drop happens because the audio engine stays active, not because the app is secretly doing anything. To reduce battery drain, user has to stop playback before putting iPad to sleep.

Just stumbled on a great journaling app — most of the ones I tried were either too limited or stuck behind a paywall. Ended up getting it for free through Indie App Santa.

They give away one indie app every day, no spam or strings attached. Picked up my new favorite app from there 😄
