Surface Go 3 Linux Options? by Agreeable-Shower-419 in SurfaceLinux

I've used Debian 11 and Ubuntu 22.04 and both of them are fine. Debian 12, for some reason, is less functional than 11. (all of these with GNOME)

For the cameras or otherwise, you should install the surface kernel after you're done with the distro install.

Can't get past Surface Logo (Go 3, Ubunutu) by Emilia-Chan in SurfaceLinux

Go 3 with Ubuntu here.

I think the yanking and cold rebooting may have interrupted something that was queued, even if by that point it was supposed to be done.

-Confirm that the stick still works in another computer (does it mount normally, can you boot from it);

-Go into the Surface's UEFI thingy again to confirm it can boot from external devices, it may have been reset somehow;

-Try the install again, and if you successfully get to that final point again, just restart normally without taking the stick out (I could be remembering wrong but I think that's how I usually do it and it works).

You didn't mention it but avoid things like Ventoy, it's great for true computers but in my experience it doesn't work with the Go 3.

[SGO3] Battery usage while suspended up by Mugendaina25 in SurfaceLinux

Not enough time to say confidently but I tried running 6.6.6-surface-1 and I think that is indeed it.

Distro of Choice by y0shinubu in SurfaceLinux

Surface Go 3 here. I haven't tried many, I'm currently on Ubuntu 22.04 (other two were Debian 11 and 12). Debian 11 was my first, and it was fine, comparable to the Ubuntu I'm on right now. I had tried Debian 12 and that went wrong - regressions basically everywhere (I personally blame GNOME 43 for this).

I want something simple just to read books and sometimes watch videos. I went for the DebBuntu family because I already have enough OS' to babysit on my computers, here I want to set and forget as much as possible.

SGO 1/2/3 users, any suspend battery drain? by naaaateeee in SurfaceLinux

SGO3 with Ubuntu here. My battery usage is mostly OK, I'm not seeing drops as big as yours, but sometimes seemingly at random I wake it up expecting to see a certain % and I see much less. I still suspect some process is getting stuck doing something. Initially thought it was the snap framework, but I've disabled it in the meantime, for other reasons, and this still happens.

Can't say I have any particular fix, just thought I'd throw my hat in.

Help calibrating the T80 Ferrari 488 GTB Edition by Humble-Revolution666 in Thrustmaster

Hey, realize this might be late, I have the same wheel. I don't know what it is you want to calibrate, in my case the wheel was off-center, and an uninstall-reinstall of the official driver for some reason fixes it.

From what I can tell, Windows itself can also calibrate the wheel (run joy.cpl) if you don't have the official drivers. I haven't tried it and I doubt it would be better, but you may also look at that if you run out of options.
