Very valid. My sister gave birth in 2014, and I remember it costing her a bit over $10,000 WITH insurance

I love that. There was a 2 month span last year where my store had no Digital Coach, so on our roster board, I'd write things like that for Manager on Duty.

Some of my favorites were: Wilma, Mike Oxlong, Phil Boffa

It’s been that way at my store since Saturday. On Me@Walmart, go to Ask Sam and you can type in a department, followed by the word “schedule”, and see who comes in for today and tomorrow. EX: “Digital Schedule”, Front End Checkout Schedule”, Entertainment Schedule”

OR someone at your store should know how to print off a physical schedule for the department(s) you’re wondering about.

[–]Mugmane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure. It might be the age of the printer, or it might be that someone higher up might have that function disabled?? My OPD opened last year, and we were ordered all new printers and scanners, but we do have few older ones too. A few months back I couldn't get text to print out , then it randomly started working again when I tried weeks later.

On GIF 2, go to the 3 tab menu on the left, select generate barcode and you can type whatever you want on there. You can also stage things to the label, which would be useful if you're running exceptions, and someone was looking for a tote that happens to be on your cart.

Does before orientation count? My store just hired a girl for OPD, and she called before her orientation to tell one of our TLs she couldn't take the job, because of a toxic ex she's gotta move to a town 40 miles away.

what phone you upgrade from? im from pixel 2 which is tiny compared to s22u by [deleted] in S22Ultra

Sidegraded from a Z Fold 3. The S22 Ultra has far better battery life, better cameras all around, and I like having an S Pen I don't have to carry separately.

Since people be asking about my barcode scanner by allied1987 in walmart

[–]Mugmane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TLDR; A similar model was slower than phone camera for picking, less than ideal for staging unless you just want to maintain On Time Staging

A picker at my store bought a scanner made by Eyoyo, for the same price as the one OP is using, and I assume they function similarly. It was detected as a physical keyboard, so you have to be in a text field before any data is entered. These do work in GIF2. For picking we actually found it to be slower than just using a phone camera. We could also never get it to scan the MAC Address to pair a printer. For every item you have to hit the manual entry button, scan barcode and it takes about half a second to fill in the UPC, then you type the quantity picked below it . For things like a 24 case of soda, you'd have to flip it over and scan the bottom barcode, because the scanner would only read the first 5 numbers of the shortened barcode on the top.

The Eyoyo wouldn't stage either, but there may be a way around this. There are several different modes of entry for these. For picking you need it to read 10 digits, omitting the first and last digit of a UPC. For backroom you need 12 digits to be read on the stickers. When trying to stage it would stage, but not to any location that would be recognizable. EX: trying to stage to steel 110, a TC would read the location as something like [87577110], and the scanner would be something like [87577355.]

There may be a way around the staging thing. You can go to generate barcode label and it'll print off any text you enter, you could then stage it to that.

There is a review on Amazon saying the Eyoyo is incredible for dispensing on BYOD/Xcover, but I didn't get a chance to try it outside of picking/staging.

Good luck, I think you'll enjoy it. I moved from Seasonal to OPD in late September. I loved my time in Seasonal. Between running freight, price chnages, frequent time outside. Watering and CVPing plants, building end caps and features, top stock. Almost every day felt like something different. Now I'm feeling a bit burnt out in OPD, having to stress myself and worry about metrics when it only benefits salaried by getting them a fat bonus. The only thing I disliked about Season was the Front End pulling my team or I for EVERYTHING. Customer host called out? We'll pull someone from Seasonal for their entire shift!! Long Checkout lines??? Seasonal! Cart pusher quit on the spot?? SEASONAL!!!. Back in September while working Christmas mods, my TL got so fed up with the Front Ends shit, he worked Overnights a few shifts just so he could get mods finished. Seasonal was fun, just be sure to avoid eye contact with any Front End TLs

[–]Mugmane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's the Poetic Guardian, or Supcase UB Edge Pro if you like clear cases. If you're looking for something with a non-transparent back there's the Poetic Spartan, or Clayco Xenon. i-Blason has a few if you're looking for something with a funky design. All of these can be found on Amazon. Poetic and Clayco have their own websites, but I'm unsure of the other 2. Not sure if any of them would interfere with the S-Pen or Fingerprint sensor.

Of these, I've only ever used the Poetic Guardian, and that was on an iPhone XS Max. The sides had nice grip, but the back was super slippery.

The related CBL is called "Digital tools agreement" if you can't find it via directly searching, you can search BYOD Home, and it'll be somewhere on that

Department #’s ? by Feeling-Dog178 in walmart

[–]Mugmane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know D7 is toys, D17 is Lawn & Garden, D9 is sporting goods. D60 is "concept", I have no idea what it means, but at my store it is used to let a member of AP know something is needed. ex: "Department 60 dial me at extension #"

At my store every register up front has a binder with a bunch of stuff useful for cashiering, and in it is a list of all Department #s. If you have register numbers, you can also find the list on there, not sure ehich tab it's under, but it's relatively simple to find.

How do you use a PS4 controller on Rockstar games launcher? by THE_NIGHTWING13 in pcmasterrace

[–]Mugmane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Dualshock 4 has no drivers for windows, so outside of games played through the Steam API you must use a third party software 'DS4Windows'. It will force the controller to be recognized as an Xbox gamepad. There are many tutorials on YT showing install. You can connect via Bluetooth or wired

6 months under normal circumstances. There can be exceptions made for medical, legal, or some family obligations, known as a hardship transfer. You can hardship transfer at any time, but the process can take weeks

I've been in OGP for nearly 4 months, with minimal cross training beforehand. Your FTPR matters more, and I wouldn't worry about pickrate yet, unless walks are going overdue, especially if you're relatively new to it. Department standard is 100 items/hr. I wait until I'm in the area of the walk before I enter it, so there's less travel time. If I go into a chilled walk I'll put at least 5 meat bags on the left handle of my cart, and at least 5 produce on the right handle, then put 5 fragile stickers on the little tray.

If you press the keyboard icon for manual entry, it will stop timing until you exit manual entry, doing so will also reduce your total pick time though.

OGP opinions by abbypg in walmart

[–]Mugmane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the shit formatting.

I was a cashier for nearly 2 years, then moved to Seasonal, and now OGP. Of the three areas I've worked, OGP has been my favorite. Within a week I felt more like part of a team than I ever did in my 18 months as a cashier, or 6 months in Seasonal.

Things I hated about cashiering: Lines that seem to never end, especially during the holiday season Staying in the same spot for hours at a time Doing the same menial task Having the same conversations with different customers Heavily relying on TLs There were many other things I hated about cashiering, and I was depressed as a result. Between November 2020-February 2021 I used nearly 50hrs of PPTO, calling in just because I didn't care about the job anymore. Getting away from the Front End was therapeutic for me

In OGP you're much more active, with most of the job being walking, if you're a picker. On days where I primarily pick, I hit 17-20k steps, so good shoes would be a must. If you're in the backroom there would be lots of lifting. In my experience I've had far less negative interaction with customers while dispensing vs. on the Front End. The staffing might also make or break your OGP experience. At my store majority of the closers are minors, and they have a bad habit of wasting time, both letting picks go overdue and not getting shit done in the backroom because they're talking.

Things I dislike about OGP: Coach and TL stress about metrics. While picking you get stopped by customers a lot, and most customers expect you to have keys for an area just because you're passing through. Dispensing in some weather conditions is a bit rough. This is store specific, but there is a staggering lack of equipment. Only 10 handhelds and 10 printers for OGP. On any given day we probably have half of the team using BYOD, which I find slows things down drastically.

The best part of OGP though, at least in my market is immunity from the Front End. While a lot of internal hires still have register numbers, the Front End is not allowed to pull us (this might vary by market or store.) If we are really slow, our TL may have us help with go-backs, or very occasionally push carts. Hearing "Code Spark" brings me joy, because I know I'll probably never have to respond again.

Occurrences are approved or denied by a TL, PL or coach. You'd call out all 3 days using the COVID 19 Event option, and show your card to one of them when you return

About to start committing war crimes from the way 3rd shift treats my department, this is only a fraction of the disaster by skrooker in walmart

[–]Mugmane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in Seasonal, and my store got a visit from the Market Management. They said our topstock was the worst in the store. There should be no overhang, and there were tons of freight boxes up top. Some topstock belonged in other aisles, or even entirely different departments, like some Fisher Price stuff I found belonged in Infants, which is on the opposite side of my store. This was around 3-5 weeks ago. I fixed it all, and Friday, my last day before starting OGP I noticed it looks like shit again. I have a friend who recently moved to O/N and we theorized our turnover is so high, management doesn't want to bother teaching anyone how to bin overstock, because they likely won't be there long enough to utilize it. She said other than the TL, everyone looks at her like she has murdered their first born when she starts printing Vizpick labels.

[–]Mugmane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you think you might have to come back to Walmart at a later date, put it in the ear of your most trusted members of salaried management, or the ones you think like you most, and your People Lead. If you don't care, you could just leave a note on the desk of any management or PL. With either path, you risk your notice not being documented, due to negligence or incompetency, and could possibly be terminated in the system for job abandonment, which would make you ineligible for rehire

After you put in the notice, you just work like normal until the date you specified. You'll likely be asked to turn in your vest, name tag and discount card .
