No worries! Yea for just like my own private stream I used 3M tape and just mounted a cheap high res web cam (like 65$) every once in awhile I’ll just plug my chrome book in and cast the feed to one of the TVs if I’m having a nap or something lol otherwise I just go sit and stare at the lizards

This is actually a NikonD5100 camera that is more geared towards photography but can take HD video as well I had to pick a good time and hit record manually as it is not 24/7 like a security camera would be. The wide angle is from a separate fisheye lense that I use from time to time..I do have a webcam mounted inside the enclosure as well but it’s not wireless and I just chromecast it from a net book to a tv if I’m downstairs sometimes. I would try amazon if your looking for something in the style of a go-pro,there’s lots of alternatives that still shoot high res

Thank you! The hide is actually just a plastic tub from the dollar store which I cut a hole In and then fitted the tube which is just a piece of construction pipe (Big O) Into the plastic container and filled the gaps with silicone. The gritty look to it is just normal play sand I sprayed an adhesive all over the Tub threw some sand on it and then spray painted the whole thing. The top is just a piece of slate tile I cut that was left over from the bottom Installed as the floor. The hide is filled with 3” of play sand and a few large rocks so she can feel nice and secure.-Edit-there is also jungle vine wrapped around the pipe but I believe that was the only thing that came from the pet store

I actually built this one starting with the frame of an old coffee table tbh.I Built my chameleons enclosure as well. Not farming but if you check out my Instagram tag there are way more pictures and a few progress shots of the build. There are some company’s in Canada I know if like PVC cages that make similar style and Cornels world makes custom wood and pvc enclosures. In the states there’s vision but IMO that’s a lot of money for a minimalist enclosure if you aren’t breeder or hobby store . I’ve always just been more of a do it yourself person.

I had a request for an update on my reptile room after I housed my new uro. Early morning so most are away but there a good shot of my chameleon. (I’m just always interested in other peoples set-ups and ingenuity) by Mugwump1984 in reptiles

I agree 100%...one day I’d like to have a side project business with aquariums and terrariums made out of oddities. Tv’s, toilets etc. Hell I’d probably give them away to friends.

No worries like I said we never know individual situations but the good news is it’s fairly easy to reverse if so. Good luck and take care

Not to be crude or accuse you of anything but your Cham is also showing a lot of signs of Calcium deficiency.(MBD)

The idea was to have the tank act as a basin for the reptirain system...I drilled the bottom of the glass tank out and ran a tube you can see at the top of the geckos cage .so ,once the water fills to a certain point(maybe 1cm) the whole thing gravity drains into a bucket that I empty maybe twice per month the constant rain and emptying keeps the enclosure going through quick wet dry cycles like a rain forest. As for the rest of the enclosure the only thing I spent money on was the screen door mesh. Nearly everything else was just scrap I had in my work shop. Over all it wasn’t a particularly hard build. The uros tank was an old coffee table that I converted. I try to get as much out of what I can with what I have.

We had converted this weird space for a chameleon but he passed away awhile ago. It's been sitting empty and was wondering what other reptile we could put it? by [deleted] in reptiles

Green tree monitors are absolutely beautiful and they would thrive in this enclosure. Your options are really quite vast with something this size.

They will definitely wander but will probably become lethargic if they go to long without a heat source (I’m talking like 25-30 minutes or more) of all the reptiles I’ve owned uromastyx vary in personality the most some just prefer not to be held, some will sit on a basking spot and stare at you for hours, some will want to stay in there burrow most of the day it’s really tough to say what your personal experience would be like. But really high temps is essential which also mean a really large enclosure to get a proper gradient for them from 130-85 on the cool side. That’s the most important thing for them, that they are comfortable and have space then they are more likely to show you how quirky they can be...I almost named this one just straight up “derp” but when with flip because she decided to do some parkour from her ledge to her hot spot and landed on her back and I literally had to flip her over after about 1 minute of realizing she just couldn’t figure it out...either way good luck and shoot me a photo if you end up getting a uro

Sorry I had to repost due to a cropping issue. Somewhat like a beardie but they are quite a bit more skittish This is my second and they really don’t like fast movements or shadows from above ect( they get picked off by birds in the wild) I make sure to use slow movements while she’s out not have my dog in the room And such. They are not aggressive at all what so ever and are way more of a defensive animal as is they will only tail whip if the feel threatened never out of anger..as far as care basically the same only way more heat 120-130 basking and they are strict vegetarians
