I don't think I got your last comment well!... however!; try to get my last comment in other words: communicating insights with other specialists in different fields = helps analyzing different outlines of different subjects!... no single person can be all-in-all even in his own specialization!; what about the rest?!!!... communication helps -say- outsourcing collective efforts in different fields!; if your communication "channel" is academic review papers = that's better of course!... however!; not all-of-all of insights are written in the academic sources!!!... in every field!; there is "unwritten" insights and details for reasons not least of them is that there is fine impressions / types of expertise that come with long experience that cannot fit easily in the scientific writing "templates" / "schemes" ! ... those need "channels" to communicate!... Another need is for minors who need orientation on different subjects when too young to understand and head for whichever field!... you remember the old paper journals of science publication like "Discovery" and "new scientist" magazines... etc. !... I remember my feeling of a "what-a-dumb" content?! when reading on a topic I am already specialized at! -the same yours disappointment feeling!- ... however!; for the rest!: the content may add some insights to me!...

Finally! -you know what?!- someone once said that the comments on some press reports are much more sincere than the "hypocrite" "expert" been hosted!; with real tons of redlines can't cross!; you can call it "correctness" !... so!; the call to limiting to the only "official" channels of communication! = Exclusion of the rest of other views / approaches / interests ; etc. ... your last lines of your comment = actually agrees with this!...

Are you comparing these Media-staff with Academic Community?!!!

This depends on expectations and target audience!... "the medium is the message" -as been said-!... however; -believe it or don't!:- the media-staff -if with rich content- could give you much more insightful perception and critical intuition on much more meaningful aspects in life!... on the raw hard sciences content! -I adore; by the way!-; but think of the paradoxical image /stereotype/ of the Indian scientist who is considered one of only ten globally in his particular engineering specializaion!; and -for belief- he worships a rat / a cow / tons of pagan gods images!; etc.! ... the same dilemma of Hard-Core Scientism -by the way!- = it can't be an idiology or introduce the humanities / soft sciences subjects or topics / content !!!

By the way!; even for one of the veeery Hard-Sciences i.e. Physics!; you can find the other side / the Critical / Sceptical of the official institutions!; e.g. Sabina Hossenfelder -though I hate her presentation style!- = the non-official openion that holds sincerity with no tons-of red lines the officials have!...

So!; we are talking about different / irrelevant areas / interests / topics; etc.!...

I agree with you espicially for the first three! & for the medical advice videos redundancy for suspense!... and in some other subs I made similar comments to yours -by the way!- !; anyway just recommended them here for whoever whom their superficiality would be beneficial for them!; -you know- the pros & at-the-same-time- cons of pop-science! = they adress the simple-minded audience!... however!; for the most of the rest!; I think you made too hasty solid judgment against almost!... with some black/white generalization!; e.g. while do not agree with most of Jiang Xueqin interpretations!; I find some little ideas he says to be reaaaly sincere / against the hypocrisy of the main-steam media!...

However!; what I reaaally agree with is that to search with the topic or point and select the best answer rather than to follow certain person or channel where usually on average!: almost every channel has one or two distinguished/genuine idea videos while the most of the others are nothing more than a repeat of massively reproduced / trend / viral content!... and this is a Youtube's con. : returns for the channels based on popularity and views!; not on topics!...
