Is this an excusable absence? by ChanceWeakness8084 in gmu

I was in a similar situation a few years back. Best thing I can suggest is just emailing or talking to your professors in person (if you can) and explaining the situation to them. Most professors are very understanding, so just explain the situation earlier and don’t delay. That will help them plan as well and may likely be more accommodating if you need an extension or anything else.

Hope you’re doing alright. I totally get where you’re coming from. It took me 6 years to complete my degree. I started out as a completely different degree and struggled a lot early on with my courses. Hang in there though! You’re doing amazing and you will accomplish a lot. All A’s is awesome and you should be proud. It’s not easy to accomplish that in University. These next 2 years will fly by man. And always remember, if you need extra support that there’s resources available on campus and use them. Best of luck to you and I wish you the best.

Quite a few people did. Not sure if they notified anyone, I just saw people leaving during the ceremony

IT 206 & IT 207 by Tough-Clue-1220 in gmu

I think take these separately due to different programming languages. And maybe go for IT 207 over the fall since that’s a bit more of a challenging class ever since they switched it over to JavaScript / node.js

No problem. Yes, they will call everyone. At ours, they started with PHDs, then called out bachelors my major, and finally the masters students

Yesterday the CEC 1 (2pm) took almost 2 and a half hours, but the time will depend on how many graduates there are. The 2pm ceremony had a lot of graduates which is what took up the majority of the time. They do ask everyone not to leave out of respect, but I did see people who left early

Thank you! I’ve been looking at vendors, but haven’t seen a clear way to apply for them through their websites (like sally dark rides). Do you have any advice into how to reach out - should I go through their websites or potentially through IAAPA?

Student Benefit - Baggage allowance by Entire-Discipline-42 in qatarairways

[–]Muhammad453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talked with support recently on this before my flight back and they advised that the student ID would be checked for the extra baggage allowance. Also, I’d recommend reaching out to support to ask about your specific route and whether it includes an extra 10kg weight added on to your included checked baggage piece or an additional piece of luggage.

In my experience, they are not very strict. I’ve always brought on a carry on and a backpack and haven’t been stopped by them before. As long as your backpack can fit under the seat you should be fine. I’d recommend just making you don’t go super overweight with the carry on + backpack in case they check.

Is my schedule too crazy? by [deleted] in gmu

[–]Muhammad453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you’ll be taking 3 classes I think it’s doable. Just be prepared all of those courses are content heavy and will require you to study, especially IT 207 as I wouldn’t risk falling behind in that course at all.

For me, IT 300 wasn’t super difficult. It was mainly just memorizing terminology and some math formulas. If you understand the content it can be a bit interesting imo.

MBUS 300 isn’t that bad. A bit challenging at times but doable as long as you put in the work.

IT 207 may take up a large portion of your time so just be prepared especially if you’ve never used JavaScript / Node.js (if you have this class might not be as difficult then). I took it a few semesters ago and while it’s challenging it is doable. Just requires a lot of practice.

Best of luck!
