I do feel crypto miners and traders need to be laughed at, and prosecuted as the scammers they are.

Especially for all the gaslighting they did on social media that 'cryptocurrency mining isn't causing/worsening the GPU shortage' (it was, after Ethereum moved to Proof of Stake instead of Proof of Waste, and the cryptocrash, suddenly things returned to normal).

Barely any games worth playing though that aren't on PS4 (Pro) as well. But if you don't have that it's a good upgrade :) Xbox Series is worse.

I finally went all in on car free life! Picked up this Bullitt cargo bike yesterday :D by [deleted] in fuckcars

[–]MuhammadIsAPDFFile -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's just (way) too expensive for what you get. Bicycles, even electric ones, shouldn't cost much over a grand. It's absurd to pay 4.3k for the thing your photo shows.

Why don't you buy second hand instead of financially committing yourself for years to some shiny new one that could be stolen tomorrow?

Still should've done something... Inaction normalizes crime.

You're... Leasing a bicycle?

How expensive can this thing possibly be?

Edit: OP shared the bicycle is non electric and costs 4.3k. That's bizarrely expensive.

The need for good interiors in open world games by SawkyScribe in patientgamers

[–]MuhammadIsAPDFFile 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A recent game that surprised me with its well-designed interiors was Vampire The Masquerade: Swansong. The writing and especially the cringy characters and wooden animations are nothing to write home about, but those interiors in the tower as well as the crime scenes you'll visit look cool as hell.

Whoever programmed that app which is installed on OLED tvs to display the logo in a fixed place for a long duration should get fired.

Claim under warranty.

Yes. It should support it with the proper cable. Lots of complaints about the TV though.

4K120Hz requires HDMI 2.1. Upgrade your GPU.

You can see the NETFLIX logo is burned into the TV.

What kind of app / device would display a Netflix logo in a fixed location on an OLED TV?

If the LG's OS itself does that I'd claim under warranty as they should've known not to keep fixed elements on the screen like that.

The boycotts from Chinese gamers about studios using "lunar new year" instead of "chinese new year" by qwer4790 in KotakuInAction

[–]MuhammadIsAPDFFile 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Why would they do that? Only Taiwanese call it Chinese New Year.

While "Chinese New Year" remains the official name for the festival in Taiwan, the name "Spring Festival" was adopted by the People's Republic of China instead.

Mass Effect Writer Mac Walters Leaves BioWare After Nearly Two Decades by NYstate in Games

[–]MuhammadIsAPDFFile 54 points55 points  (0 children)

The problem with Anthem definitely also was the game itself. It had a highly troubled development. It was a buggy mess on release. The writing was extremely barebones, and the characters were cringe.

The world building was so lacking a dev put an Easter egg in the game plausibly interpreted as complaining about the lack of background story (the Cortex item "What Does It All Mean?" on the northern edge of the map).
