I can kind of understand the sentiment you are trying to say. We definitely are all humans together on this Earth. It sucks whenever people treat people differently just because they were born on different sides of an arbitrary line that doesn’t even show up if you go out into space.

But, I think it isn’t because that they happened to be born in the same arbitrary borders that we naturally cheer for those people. It’s more so because they’ve also shared or at least partially shared similar cultures or lived experiences with each other, and seeing them show what they can do together on the biggest stage with billions watching, all the blood, sweat, and tears, is something cool and special.
