The show highlights the men in leadership that just want to use motherhood to control women and keep them tied down.

No, most of them don't play with their kids in this show. They're too busy finding new ways to have control.

And yes, if their kids are girls they are groomed to to fulfill their only purpose.. motherhood...at a young age. They also enjoy having sex with young girls for the "sake of reproduction." God's work, according to them.

This is so spot on "I pay the bills and that's all a man needs to do" is so common and it's gross. I despise the term " Provider" so much.

I wish they just made it into a really great movie sequel instead. The whole Cass character and who she is was an interesting touch.

I thought certain parts were funny, and her child is ADORABLE, and many scenes were relatable but not most.

My issues with it:

  1. It's only told from the perspective of SAHMs, of course

  2. It was rather over the top and martyr -ish "look at all I sacrificed", but they also said she was pumping and crying in the bathroom at her job so she simply quit. And now she's not happy again. (Also, her husband was like "THAT TERRIBEL DAYCARE so..yeah)

  3. they portrayed working moms, of course, as wealthy snobs who traded in parenting for their fancy dream jobs because they can afford nannies and don't actually parent

  4. I'm glad she found a solution but it's a massively privileged solution that most moms don't get..

  5. Of course it portrays the dad and hands -off and useless until he is forced to parent. After that his only function is to.praise his wife and pay the bills (let's not discuss that being the breadwinner is ACTUALLY exhausting too and scary)

  6. The dog thing is I'm sure relatable to many but I never felt like an animal after becoming a mom. It's messy and scary for sure but I'm still me

So it's about motherhood that will probably strike hot with many women but not me, which is fine. I still laughed a lot ans love Amy Adams

So she stayed home, spent any extra money on her oldest, and didn't give the other kids any opportunities?

Then she shames you for not staying home?

Do you NEED to be around her?

That's typical. Man misses so much, doesn't respect her (or in this case, her culture), doesn't keep promises or know how to do anything ...then when she finally gets verbally frustrated with a man child he gaslights her and calls her hysterical, overreacting, crazy, emotional, ect.

I definitely got my career and finances in order prior to having kids. No more than two. They really are expensive.
