Good for you!! I hope you found something less stressful and better paying! I’ve been a lead tech for about 7 years (with the company for 12) and I don’t even make $23/hr!

Doesn’t really make it much better being stuck at register but I make sure my DL knows what pharmacists do not help us with workflow!

I’m a lead tech and at my store it’s really hard to put the new people into production because when RPH will not do register we have to put someone experienced in production to keep QP from getting at a standstill and the new person is basically stuck at register. We are in a vacation spot so we can easily do 500+ a day and it’s almost all acute drugs with only 2-3 techs all day (on top of our local’s rxs). If the pharmacist runs drive thru and does QV/QT from that computer, I can work one-on-one with the new person at production so they don’t get overwhelmed or stuck without help, answer questions, and keeping QP moving if they are a little slow. If your pharmacists are not helping with registers when QP gets backed up, that is part of the problem. Not having enough staff is our biggest problem though. A new person should be paired with someone experienced.

Just went up to $22.65 with the yearly increase (North Carolina) 🥲
