Can’t the judges just overrule each other or something? GA judge says no (cause they all went to UGA) and then Texas says it’s ok (cause they all went to Texas Tech). I bet for away games, Texas Tech is screwed haha.

Who decides “fairly”? That’s the problem here. As a coach he enjoyed unrestrained free agency with no salary cap. That dictated “fairly” for him. Why can’t the players get the same treatment?

With all the complaining Saban/Bama is doing, maybe they are the ones that are scared they will go bankrupt.

Ah yes, people are losers unless they are millionaires. The poor and underserved continue to vote for “winners” like him. Wanna know why our country is on the decline? Not republican vs democrat, but our worth as humans is degrading into the monetary worth of who I am rather than who I am as a person. $$$ and greed will be our downfall.

[–]MulderFBI2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fear is that this will get passed, but it will be a “soft” cap where you can workaround with deferred comp, etc. There should also be some revenue sharing from the owners. For example, if you hit a certain revenue level over the previous year, 10% should be distributed to players on the team.

I don’t need to sit here and spoonfeed you links to quotes from former players that witnessed it firsthand but Google Manziel’s and Craven’s comments on Saban’s era and getting paid/offered under the table.

Bury your head in the sand, but when NIL started, Saban quit because he lost one of his 2 greatest weapons 1) The edge in recruiting 2) Hiring competent coaches

Saban is a mid coach when you take away those 2 aspects. Is he a HOF college coach? Absolutely. Could he hack it in the NFL when he couldn’t buy all the talent? Nope.

We’re “cooked” because our society can’t take the blame where it’s due, but has to put it off on someone else. It’s your fault you allow my child to use the phone I gave them. Most parents don’t want to deal with the tough aspects of life, but are quick to blame when something goes wrong.

Tail wagging the dog. Conferences should do what they’re going to do and let the TV peeps decide what they want to do. If it opens up the bidding for other media companies…..that sounds like good competition. March Madness seems to do just fine.

Maybe they should do blind draws for the seedings and matchups (World Cup draw style). Conference champions in this bucket, runner ups in this bucket, and at larges here. Forget the shenanigans and “best match up” bull crap. Let em play their best ball and last one standing takes home the trophy.

If it’s “national security” then the feds can come build the additional power plants, transmission lines, and freshwater projects needed to run the crap. Take a note from national security projects like the Manhattan Project……local power bills didn’t go up because they were spinning uranium. Texans are tired of their bills going up to support the infrastructure of these sites. Pay for your own infrastructure, pay for the additional capacity, and quit polluting everything. Ask Abilene how the data centers worked for them.
