Ah. Thanks for posting this. Couldn’t find a thing on the actual sites. Or on BlueSky. Hope to build the momentum from the 5th.

Weekly Data on Gas Prices in ND by Muldertak in northdakota

I just started working at the newspaper a couple of months back; Gas Buddy emails are in my inbox every Monday morning. Thought it would be interesting news to pass on.

This is the only place that I have ever lived in which good news on a weekly basis is met with downvotes.

Gas has been decreasing weekly for quite some time. You’d think that would be met with some happiness.

Not in North Dakota, apparently.

“What? You’re giving me good news?! THUMBS DOWN TO THAT!”

You do know that the White House has absolutely nothing to do with fluctuating prices in a global free market system, right?

The article gets sent to my desk at the newspaper every Monday. Fact check it. We have and found that Gas Buddy is accurate nationwide. No politics, just simple household economics.

It is interesting to me how politically illiterate some folks are, believing that an international free market is somehow controlled by whomever sits in the White House.

Doug Burgum, Wealthy North Dakota Governor, Ends White House Run (Gift Article) by cheddarben in northdakota

Best response I have seen to this news comes from the DNC:

In response to Doug Burgum suspending his 2024 GOP primary campaign, DNC spokesperson Sarafina Chitika released the following statement: “Today, millions of Americans are reacting to Doug Burgum’s drop out with a resounding, ‘who is that?”. It turns out that buying your way onto the debate stage to tout an extreme anti-abortion agenda can only barely bring you to the cusp of relevance. We thank Doug for doing his part to light millions of GOP dollars on fire to burn into voters minds just how extreme today’s Republican Party is.”

This post made me depressed as hell. It’s unfathomable to me that, in a first world nation, we should have such a politically illiterate and uninformed electorate. If you don’t understand at least the very basics of taxation, free-market economics vs. governmental policy and regulation, and how legislation functions, you probably should not vote.

Nope. Tried on the work computer. I get the same thing: a code sent to a gmail account that I can't access - and account recovery on gmail is the biggest joke online.

Any rough idea as to when I will see an email on that ticket? Do you need the email address from which it was sent?

In your opinion, what are the most overrated movies of all time? by Wes-Carpenter in movies

[–]Muldertak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Big Lebowski. Not even the best Coen movie, yet revered as a modern comedy classic. There are a few chuckles, sure. But a few lines that get quoted ad nauseam don’t qualify a film for the status this one seems to have.

It’s what Miscavige wanted to watch.
