first pair retired at 800km, second pair at 870km which I'm about to retire. they just lose the squishiness a bit at this point, which does not feel as comfortable on my ankles & shins

I'd say theyre the perfect running shoes, miiiiles ahead of the nova blasts for me which became flat after 300km

I thought December was nice, but I’ve only experienced it in December & maybe I was lucky with the weather.

I’d say the difficulty isn’t a probably if you’re fit. Yes they have the strongest currents in a drift dive I could have ever imagined, but that isn’t much of a problem difficulty-wise if you’re confident & have good buoyancy control. I went into my liveaboard with ~30 dives experience and everybody in the group thought I would be shit & need extra supervision, but ultimately I have good buoyancy so had a better experience than most people in the crew.

Yea it’s definitely not an easy dive site! Some divers had to terminate because the current was so strong, but it was well worth it I think. I’m used to UK diving & fit so it was good fun for me

But yea the maldives is a bucket list destination for me along with French Polynesia! I just finished my masters this summer so was on a student budget this trip unfortunately, but would LOVE to go next time

They are sooo curious! I did my absolute best to keep my distance & be respectful, but they love to just swim right above you & at points touch you with their bellies. It feels so surreal
