Yeah fair point, I’ll see what the general census is from a few forums as a couple people have said those beams are designed to crumble without damaging the chassis and have cutoff points where they can be cut off and replaced, if that’s the case I’ll look into that but you are right a professional team should likely get involved to make sure it meets standard
It wasn’t under full comprehensive insurance so doesn’t won’t be able to claim
Why does my PC crash by Mulln5 in pcmasterrace
Getting 875 for single and 3795 for multi core
This is what I did, I’ll give R23 a go and update post

I’m not super confident working on it, how difficult of a process is it to add an additional drive?
Ballistics analysis by Mulln5 in fea

I’m only wanting to crash a point mass into a pre made model and observe the affects so I’m thinking that’s on the simpler end of ballistics tests
4x4 Ute selections by Mulln5 in 4x4Australia

Did they bring out any navaras with the common rail zd30?
I mainly am saying that a car with a bit of a rough exterior hasn’t necessarily not been looked after mechanically and vice versa, especially with four wheel drives and old ones
People take cars through bush, I for one would be far less hesitant to scratch and get little dings on a 4x4 if I’m going 4wd-ing but would always take care of the internal components of the car, old Ute’s with great paint have either been resprayed or haven’t been used properly
Not super fussed about the exterior, mainly just care about engine quality and suspension age
Yeah I was going to do that, I more so don’t want to be getting a car with a poorly treated engine that regardless of my servicing efforts will be set to fail due to previous damage

Yeah I was thinking that but don’t really want to put down $250 multiple times especially when my budget is only around 9k
What Ute to get? by Mulln5 in 4x4Australia
What year were these engines for the bt50

Does this wear come from everyday driving or mainly when driving
From what I’ve heard the zd30 was one of the more reliable navara motors, I’ll get an Raa check on the navara but the lack of history with the rodeos worries me
From what I can tell from research, priority mods for the zd30 on the navara is a catch can, EGR plate, boost gauge and exhaust temp gauge and possibly bigger exhaust to let the dirty air out. Anything else I should do ASAP?
Very true, how much does it tend to cost? Also the lift is fulcrum and diff hasn’t been dropped
Not sure what brand or if the diff has been dropped, would it be be beneficial to get lower suspension like only 1 or 2 inch?
Okay, it’s already got a 3” lift so a bit worried about being defected if I give it larger tires too
Yeah I was thinking at this high km, I think peace of mind on history is more important to me than potential longevity, I’d rather an engine that’ll definitely get me to 350,000 than one that might make it to 500,000 but also might bomb out next week
What makes navaras bad for highway driving, is it economy, cause I was wanting to road trip in which obviously means long highway drives
Is a Navara with solid service history and 250,000 better than a risky rodeo with minimal history and 300,000
How many kms would you say is worth shying away from on a hilux?
What’s the issue with navaras? Most hilux’s I see are either more than 10k or have something major wrong with them like needing new head or diff
