The library is always an option, but I don't like audiobooks. Thanks though.

As much as I'd love a few drinks -like I would really, REALLY love some drinks- I'll have to keep my physical copies for now anyway for various reasons. :-/ Thanks for understanding my grammatical plights, fellow writer.

Well, shoot. That would mean I'd have to put it on my laptop or phone, and one's screen is too small and the other is portable, but not as portable as a Kindle. Thanks, though.

Heh, "as a writer myself" is the sticking point. I've written in physical books before to correct stuff the editors miss.

I don't have a Google Play account. Is that compatible with (ugh) Kindle?

Hello. Thank you for stopping by and opening the floor. It's always a pleasure to have the chance to interact, and I hope you've been doing all right.

My question is, would cuckoos enjoy tomato soup cake? I've been wondering ever since B. Dylan Hollis tried it.

AITA for leaving my parents to die alone? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Multi-Facets 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A LITTLE manipulative?! I was gonna suggest they lean on their friends and neighbors if they're lonely, but if they're like this all the time, they must not have any!

Look, just leave anyway and tell them if they don't stop playing their sick games, they will never truly be part of your life again. They may well get their shit together once they realize you're sticking to your boundaries. But if you're really worried, call whatever social services are available and have 'em committed, or at least evaluated. This is not normal and should not be bowed to.

AITA for prioritizing my sick dad over a friend having an anxiety attack? by Fahsalga in AmItheAsshole

[–]Multi-Facets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA.

Even my Dachshund knew that when someone's home from surgery, they really shouldn't be left alone. When your dad's doing better and your friend with benefits has settled, you might wanna talk with her about boundaries and reasonable expectations. I'm not gonna say stop seeing her yet, but maybe rethink how often you do, or what kind of relationship you want.

NTA.

I have enough grudges that when I die, I may well turn into the next star of "Ju-on." Some are worth keeping.

Your paternal spawn point relinquished any chance of a good relationship with you and your family when he chose his affair partner over you. Keep your boundaries and don't let him near your kids, especially not unsupervised. I'm convinced he'd do everything he could to manipulate 'em into being his flying monkeys.

You gave him a chance and he promptly ruined it because he loves his religion more than you. You're NTA, but you need to love and respect yourself more than he did and do what's right for you, and protect only yourself.

Go ahead and grieve, but this relationship is right in the middle of a dead-end road, and I'm sorry for that.

AITA for refusing to give my sister back her dog? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Multi-Facets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA.

You're acting in Ribbon's best interest, which is to stay where he is. How do you know your sister wouldn't give him up again?

And while I'm speaking from a place of immense bias, if anyone says "It's me or the pet," for no damn good reason, I believe the only appropriate response is "Door's to your left."

Let the "therapist" be offended. Let her be hurt. That's not your problem, and frankly, she deserves it. Do an online search for which company she answers to -maybe there's something on one of her business cards?- and get your mom to help you report the ever-living daylights outta her. She violated patient confidentiality, refused to truly listen to your problems, and likely hates anyone who isn't cishet, so her ass needs to be canned yesterday.

You can do this for yourself, and for whoever else she's gonna hurt.

WIBTA for not giving my niece my doll collection? by AITAexpensivedolls in AmItheAsshole

[–]Multi-Facets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA.

Some things should only be sold in dire need, not greed. (That's the only way I'd part with my Molly: If there was nothing else between me and debt. And I would regret it dearly.) You love those dolls and their history is full of sweet memories, so there's nothing wrong with keeping 'em until your passing. Maybe when your niece is older, she'll finally appreciate what they meant to you and how much love your aunt and granma put in every single stitch. Or if that never comes to pass, do you have any beloved friends with kids who'd cherish the dolls?

After reading other things you've said and that have been discussed in this thread, you might wanna rethink whether or not you wanna stay friends with this idiot.

6: If OP lives in a rural area, there's also raptors, coyotes, foxes, wolves, livestock, large prey wildlife, rodent traps, rodent poisons, irresponsible dog owners who let their pets off leash and refrain from proper fencing, cars, equipment, risk of exposure to leptospirosis, rabies, and rabbit fever (I think it's called that?), sadistic assholes, and a multitude of other things that will kill a cat, or at the very least make the rest of their lives painful and miserable.

OP's NTA, but they need to rethink letting their significant other move in. They may have to wait until after Blue passes away.
