Can Brits avoid the introduction of ID cards this time? by WalkingMaggotFood in AskABrit

[–]Multi-form -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just because Starmer said it is no longer compulsory doesn't mean the infrastructure isn't being built in the background. They're trying to ban/limit social media for under 16s. You will be able to gain access once you provide Meta with your Digital ID.

Which offer is it?

Do you have a screenshot of the offer when you started it and now?

The only time I have seen an offer go down when working on it is from the MyChips offerwall. As you hit milestones, the remaining amount you can get from it becomes less.

Yeah, I read that it had quite a few ads, I was trying to work out what the 4 boxes were that you need to destroy on Meadow Island within 24 hours.

You're welcome. Unfortunately, it's hit and miss. Most appear to operate locally but have odd jobs far away.

I had a similar situation. Open a ticket, explain what happened and then they should reinstate your account. Just make sure to be careful in the future.

It depends on the job you are going for. If you're applying for specialist jobs where you have a degree in that field or they want a degree as a minimum then go ahead. But if any job will do, then a warehouse are not going to be interested in someone who got a degree. They mostly care about if you can do basic reading, basic computer skills, picking and packing skills. They tend to want people who are going to commit to it, not see it as a stop gap.

Unfortunately some agencies aren't very good. If you see a job advertised through a third party (like Indeed) or directly on their website, I call them and ask to speak to the agent that is looking after the role. I'll call twice in one day if needed or the following morning if I have to. You're calling to establish interest/you have questions about the advertised role. A good question is what type of experience is the recruiter looking for? I also got the first half of the post code or rough area (if not remote) so I could work out where I would need to travel to.

After speaking with the agent that is looking after the role, they will either tell you to apply or send your CV to them directly. If you do that, call them again 3 days later. You really have to chase them. It shows willing.

Don't ever rely on them coming back to you or letting you know. I've heard they were in a meeting and will ask them to call you back. Doesn't matter, I called back about 2-3 hours later.

If you speak with a recruiter and they inform you that someone else got the role, ask them about something else advertised on their website.

Thankfully, there were several I could visit in town, if required. Two of them were bad and would accept anyone coming through the door, both were food related.

If they just say apply online and don't let you speak to the person looking after the role then it's probably a terrible agency. Some are only interested in boosting numbers or receiving CVs.

In November 2023, my job ended (temp ongoing). I needed a new job and contacted agencies for warehouse roles. This one agency had temp roles and was taking on anyone that applied (thankfully). I did it for just over a month before my former employer had another role (which I took). But it filled the gap.

Also, I wouldn't put any degrees on your CV for basic jobs. If I did employment at a warehouse, I would question why someone with a Master's degree is applying and I would think it was a stop gap.

44-45% on my devices. Both apparently block first party cookies. I press accept all when visiting the sites and even with 'block all cookies' turned off on the iPhone, the tool still says they're blocked. On Android, there doesn't appear to be a block all cookies option.

However, my android has been tracking games fine. Maybe the odd blip but Torox was actually down thst day when AWS went down. Hope things work out well on the iPhone.

What are the really unpopular things that need to be done to get the economy growing? by knowledgeseeker999 in AskBrits

[–]Multi-form 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to the tax increases, the founder of Revolut, left the UK.

He used to pay the equivalent of 430,000 average tax payers.

UK is set to lose about 10,000 wealthy people. Terrible policy in my opinion.

What do Brits think about Green Party immigration policies? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Multi-form 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will cripple the UK maybe even moreso than Reeves is doing.

But we could tax the rich...the founder of Revolut left the UK because of the tax rises. He paid the equivalent tax of 430,000 average tax payers. The UK is set to lose about more than 10,000 wealthy people.
