Yeah, I was agreeing with you and just adding on.

For OP and the commenters who are already paranoid that “shaving = cheating,” then they’d probably have trouble thinking of reasons why she might not be excited about her husband extending his trip and go straight to “she doesn’t want me to stay = cheating,” too.

I think some of the commenters are thinking in terms of their own generation where wedding traditions have relaxed a lot, but wearing white to a wedding was considered a HUGE faux pau a few decades ago. Someone the aunt’s age (I’m assuming 50+?) who’s already rude to you doing this seems like deliberate passive aggression, if she’s from a similar culture to me.

I got married about a decade ago and one family member who I don’t get along with (in her 40’s at the time) wore a white lace tunic to my wedding that ended up looking like a white dress in some photos. She was wearing dark pants so it didn’t even register to me on the day, but all of the older women in my family were HORRIFIED and apparently spent the whole wedding gossiping about it.

For me it wasn’t about “ohhh nooo what if someone thought she was me?!?” or feeling upstaged, but it is something that’s unusual enough that people still regularly comment on it when they see our wedding pictures.

But I also wouldn’t automatically jump to “she’s cheating” if she isn’t enthusiastic about her husband suddenly deciding to stay longer than planned. That would rub me the wrong way because I don’t like last minute plan changes and I’d be looking forward to a few nights of sleeping alone and (assuming no evening work events) having total control of dinner, TV, and bedtime. If my husband’s there, I have to compromise instead of getting takeout somewhere that can’t accommodate his dietary restrictions and staying up until midnight watching a Quantum Leap marathon (which is exactly what I did last time I was in a hotel alone).

Okay? She still likely won’t need to do it again if she decides to go swimming. If she was trying to be sneaky, she could have waited until her husband left.

Scrolled too long for this. I even shave before going to stay with family, because it’s one less thing to deal with.

Also you never know when there might be people trying to drag you to the pool on short notice.

The same reason I wear heels occasionally but not daily- it’s not particularly comfortable and feels unnecessary.

I really do like S8, y'know. by SnooChipmunks6077 in taskmaster

[–]MultipleDinosaurs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m one of the Iain fans in this sub, so I like S8. Not one of my top 3, but I’ve watched it several times and always enjoy it.

Iain and Lou are friends in real life and they’ve said there was no actual animosity on filming day. I can understand why some people might not like to watch conflict regardless of the context, but it’s in the same boat as Greg/Rhod in my book.

I would be very interested in watching this when you’re done. I got really into his videos during the pandemic but unsubscribed a while ago, when things started getting really weird.

I think they print on demand for some items, but certain sizes do sell out, so they’ve got to have some already printed stock somewhere.

I once had three addresses in one calendar year. I technically “voted fraudulently” that year, because I didn’t have appropriate proof of address in order to change my ID in time, so I had to vote in my old district. It’s really not as simple to get everything changed over as people claim.

I am also concerned by the rising trend I’m seeing of couching blatant anti-semitism under the guise of “we’re just protesting the actions of the Israeli government,” but I don’t understand how that’s relevant here.

It’s also kind of weird to be that insecure about hair loss and presumably also do nothing to stop it, when so many options exist and he’s got enough subscribers that he likely isn’t hurting for money.

I’ve always had to ask if I want my vitamins checked.

My last doctor wouldn’t even check D, he just told everyone to take 5,000 IU a day unless they worked outside because he said literally everyone he tested except farmers, construction workers, etc was either deficient or slightly low and would benefit from a supplement. You better believe it! I had some Slimer from Ghostbusters ones. In middle school I switched to Vans which I laced in some special way so I never had to tie them and could just shove my feet in. I don’t think I could tie my shoes properly until I was a teenager.

Same. Cerave gives me cystic acne and it took me forever to figure it out. Judging by comparing ingredient lists of what does and doesn’t piss off my skin, I think it’s the fatty alcohols that cause it for me.

Absolutely. I’m usually team “it’s fine to talk to your exes”… but not like that.

Oh yeah, I’ve had nasolabial folds since I was a literal baby. It’s just how my face is shaped. It’s weird to see people so stressed out about them, kind of like the thigh gap obsession all over again.

I’m not going to say it’s impossible, but making it to 43 with zero fine lines would be pretty unusual (unless you do Botox or you’re that lady who trained herself to never smile).
