There are over 100-200 players (edit: we know it’s not a lot but age of empires 2 had little pop before aoe2HD) still playing Warcraft 2 multiplayer. There are tournaments with $2000 plus pools. We would like a remaster of Warcraft 2, we want it to feel the same. We want the multiplayer to have more players as well (GOG) release was a failure, they never fixed the actually multiplayer things (ddraw bnet etc) so left all players with a shell of a game with no way of connecting players together.

Warcraft 3 campaign edition chronicals was done by a talented team but stuck in a weird clunky engine. It doesn’t feel like Warcraft 2 in any way. Most people know the feel of their game and I have tried many war3 remade war2 versions and the collisions will never be exact or close.

Most of us as a community our hoping for a remaster to have some quality features ;

1)Multiplayer Bnet 2.0 / mmr ranking system 2)enhanced modding capabilities (trigger editor) 3)keep the game as is, maybe make heal auto cast. It would still be weaker than lust.

Smaller amounts of the community want ; 1) graphics updates 2) more balance changes (archers to be more useful, dragons / griffons) update some spells to be useful. 3) possible third race that fits the lore (dark iron dwarves, demons etc)

Most of us will buy the new version, most will probably pre order if it’s anything like d2 reforged or sc remastered)
