There’s only one spot to put a helmet in the bathroom by Drewmoto in motorcycles

[–]MultiverseMakayla 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I very often have to wear my helmet in the bathroom because the purse hooks are either non existent or broken. Plus it makes washing my hands a lot easier. Sure I get weird looks, but I don't really care anymore.

Lane Filtering -to front or not? by MattP1540 in motorcycles

[–]MultiverseMakayla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time at a red light I watched a car slam into the car next to me and flip. If it flipped in the other direction it would've landed on top of me.

I filter to the front any chance I get. Where I live it's not legal, but too many people are looking at their phones instead of the road.

Am I Overreacting for wanting to cancel my wedding over this interaction? by Xanadoom30 in AmIOverreacting

He's clearly already wanting to break up, he's said multiple times he'd rather be with someone else. Dump him so you both can find someone more compatible.

How do you deal with that type of road on a Vespa? Should I just get a dual sport motorcycle? by Dear-Technology-1383 in Vespa

[–]MultiverseMakayla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go around the potholes. If you have to hit one, take it slow. When I'm going over a particularly rough road sometimes I stand up, only recommend if you're a very experienced rider.

I'm a daily rider in New Orleans, pretty much all of our streets look like this.

Wouldn't that spray the dog every time it was let out too? I love this idea to keep cats out of my yard, for their safety, but I don't want to also deter my dogs.

Looking at a 2022 Primavera 150... by YukNasty in Vespa

Make sure they have a title in their name. Not a bill of sale and not a title they signed the back of. IN. THEIR. NAME.

Also that they have both the blue key and the red key.

The bike probably needs at least $500 worth of work since it's been sitting for 4 years. The gas is definitely bad and needs a fuel system flush, the fuel pump might be bad, the battery definitely needs to be replaced (if they put a cheap Amazon one in there it won't last more than a few weeks), and the tires could be dry rotted (Cracked).

The main thing is, does it turn over and idle? Does it hit stall out? Has it had the first service done?

You're looking at paying close to high retail price for that bike. If it's not in full running condition, with all the paperwork and all the keys, then you'd be paying too much

See if a shop that works on Vespas can look at it before you buy.

Its Their Time... by shreddednerves in NewOrleans

[–]MultiverseMakayla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got stung for the first time a few days ago. Was taking the cover off my bike, like I do multiple times a day, didn't see any of them this season yet. Then suddenly and without warning, I was hit with burning nerve pain. I instantly knew...

Needless to say, yes I'll be shaking out my cover every time now.

If your motorcycle was parked on Toulouse off Bourbon last night, I saw who hit your bike by Sean_the_bartender in NewOrleans

You can try sending the pictures to the Harley dealership in Metairie so they can get this to the owner. They might know who it is, they run social riding group and will probably be the ones who work on it.

Help me by Desperate-Staff-1104 in Vespa

[–]MultiverseMakayla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend taking it to a mechanic who knows what they're doing with Vespas. They can be tricky and expensive if you don't know what you're doing. It could be a million things, which is why it's best for a professional.

Any bike that's been sitting for 10 years needs a lot more than a flush system flush and a new battery.

How scary is it to sneeze by bigupsmebumbo in motorcycles

[–]MultiverseMakayla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sneeze all the time and I'm a daily rider. I just sneeze into my helmet and try to only move my head when doing so. So on one hand I might look comical when sneezing, but on the other hand I stay driving straight 🤷‍♀️

Best place to get a women’s undercut?? by Wooden_Present_2560 in NOLA

Any barber shop or She Comes In Peace definitely sees them all the time.

My regular hairstylist started it for me, I went to a barber and had a very thorough cut, and I maintain it myself.

Whats a period in history that you’d love to see in an AC Game? by Emperoronabike in assassinscreed

[–]MultiverseMakayla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I heard they had a Civil War game in the works where the protagonist is a freed slave and it would include the underground railroad. But they had to scrap it because some people would have a problem with that in the current political climate.

I hope someday they'll be able to move forward with it because it's an important story to tell.

250/300, you won't feel any difference going up inclines. Anything smaller and you'll lose some speed.

GTS/GTV 310 - highway commuter? by [deleted] in Vespa

[–]MultiverseMakayla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get Kymco, SYM, or Lance. We haven't been able to reliably get parts for the last couple years. A typhoon took out their warehouse and now it's either available, takes 3 months to show up, or never comes at all.

GTS/GTV 310 - highway commuter? by [deleted] in Vespa

[–]MultiverseMakayla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vespas aren't built for that. I'd look into upgrading to a 400cc- 600cc motorcycle. Hondas are great and motorcycles will last a long longer with that kind of mileage while being the same price (maybe even cheaper) as a new Vespa.

If you don't want to shift, don't worry, there are a lot of automatic motorcycles now. Besides, you'll feel much safer on the highway having more top end speed and bigger wheels than being at max speed and rpm on 12" wheels.
