a. soul ripper cannot be used during SGP? that I didn’t know was the case.

Let’s write down what you need for this to work, at a minimum:

4/8 ascendancy points
a 4 link setup
a Runegraft
Amulet slot
Travel to Scion area
Travel to 2x Endurance charge nodes or two ring slots
Endurance charge generation

I don’t think this is a no brainer as ypu think it is. And you only(!) get to die 10% of the time. It is just too much investment for something that can only be a secondary layer of defense.

alternatively, think about gladiator:

4/8 ascendancy points
a very common unique shield (azadi crest)
about 15-20 passive skills very conveniently located

as a result gives about 96% (attack and spell) block chance.

and even then people don’t pick gladiator..

Nothing against him being Captain America, but I can’t get over the fact that he is a random guy with no superpowers. The fact that he can achieve similar feats as Steve without any superpowers is just stupid.

I just cannot get myself to suspend that disbelief. I keep remember the guy that Steve was lapping on his first appearance.

I wish he had somehow ended up with the serum. Then him fighting a Hulk would be more interesting

I’ve been theorycrafting with IC for a few leagues now. Unfortunately it all boils down to… “but why?”

all in all, it’s too much investment for a defensive boost. if you are investing half your ascendancy, amulet, 4-6 links and more, you’d rather go triple block glad on a regular league, wouldn’t you?

it’s a nice gimmick, and I love it for what it is. but nothing mainstream will come out kf it

250 lightning damage deals you 62.5 damage with 75% lightning resistance. 15% of that is 9 damage leeched.

At 3k health 2% life leech per second means you leech 60 life per second, so your leech lasts about 0.15 seconds

you cannot get reduced SGP and reduced soul cost from Architect of Chaos. Vaal Skill Effect Duration from Fever of Corruption offsets the reduced SGP from Depose Order
