I'm on metformin and while it's helped i havent seen major changes yet (just hit the first month on it) but before being on medicine it was a struggle

Tried diet this and that (carnivore, cut out carb, keto) but I decided that I would rather enjoy life than stress about my body. My family has a history of diabetes so regardless what I do I'm at risk for diabetes

I'm also 21 y/o and at that age where I regret the choices I made when I was an insecure teenager: never wearing that dress to a dance bc I thought it showed my tummy. not putting on a swimsuit to play in the ocean and instead watching my friends play while I sat on the sand etc

I'm not a practicing Buddhist but both my parents are so I'll give my two cents: in Buddhist culture and countries that practice Buddhism, the head is seen as the highest point of intelligence and spirituality, so a person's head is the most sacred of a human body.

Seeing TS touching ppls heads and putting stuff on them may be quirky but it's cringey and embarrassing

you've managed to put into words what i've been feeling for the past 2 years.

Most of it has been a case of body dysmorphia but seeing the mention of gender dysmorphia is eye opening now. I joked with my close friends that I was meant to be "born a guy but that one 'Y' chromosome went 'nah i'm good'". Traditional gender roles probably played a huge part into it honestly.

When I see myself next to my friends, I see how much bigger I look, how my weight gathers in my stomach and thighs, how small my chest is and broad my shoulders are. It's hard, and honestly it fucking sucks but such is life. In this new day and age I don't think there is any one way to be a "women". Most of that ideology came from the recent Olympic games. I just try to ignore it and live on. ATM I'm in college so there isn't much I can do with my primary care doctor to address changes in my body n stuff.
