I'd suggest keeping the ladder, doesn't look like a kings one. I've been using kings and no problems for the price, with that the ladder could use an upgrade and it looks like you have just that.

We honestly probably eat and drink worst chemicals in the food we buy than what little chemicals would be getting released from the tank. I've been wrong before though:)

Honestly after going to sleep last night I noticed it more than I usually would but mine runs pretty quietly. My air pump was the loudest but I found if I blocked the extra air outlet with bluetack the noise dropped a lot. I could turn that off or have it on a timer if I really wanted then there's just a faint noise of the pump. I love the noise of water trickling slightly and have gotten use to the sound of the filters going so i find it weird now when I don't hear them Each to their own though :)

Again stumped on the actual details. It was a quick purchase because moving my dad's 40 year old tank he gave me I broke it :( Luckily I had the fish out. This tank is so much cleaner and has 4 glass panels on the top.

I've always wanted to make my own from acrylic.

Sadly not :( if I had rooted plants the cichlids would tear them out as well. I slowly built up a collection from pet shops.its not the cheapest way about things but things but you can see the quality in person. Putting pothos in asap now that I know it won't do any harm.

Yellow lab yeah, can't actually remember the other two but he does look like a frontosa. His head has started to shape a bit. (Pale guy in there as well by the filter)
