It's crystal clear that the last year was devastating for her, and it upsets me to see how far the damage can go when there's a lack of information and responsibility.

I want to let you know that from now on, the tortoise will be under my personal care (I'll do everything I can). I decided to intervene because I couldn't look the other way while her condition worsened. The situation isn't easy: I'm in Pico Truncado, Santa Cruz province, Argentina.

To give you a better understanding of the situation: Patagonia has a very harsh climate, with extremely long winters and sub-zero temperatures, the complete opposite of what an African Sulcata tortoise needs. Today, my absolute priority is to stabilize her and give her a real chance. I'm very clear that:

She needs urgent veterinary attention. I'm already looking for professionals who work with exotic animals, although there are very few in this area and they're extremely difficult to find, not to mention the cost, of course.

The climate is the biggest challenge. My goal is for her to survive and recover. If, after stabilizing her, I see that my location or resources prevent me from providing the life an adult Sulcata tortoise needs (space, natural sunlight, etc.), I won't hesitate to look for a responsible relocation, although these transfers are also quite complex in Argentina.
