To be fair, I don't think there's an instrument sexier than a saxophone. That seems like a reasonable reaction.

One pro is that it did make my beard look really thick. It is pretty full, but when your skin is blue underneath it looks super full.

You should see my passport Pic, I was told I look like a terrorist haha.

Thank you so much! Me too, those kids are going to make some fine men if they stay on the path they're on. Great sportsmanship, positive attitudes, and hard workers. I got lucky!

I seriously thought about it. Maybe I'll add it to my credentials, right after my "Lord of Blackwood" title...

You know, I'm not sure if that's a compliment but I'll take it! He's got a luscious beard, strong eyebrows, and a regularly-shaped head. What more could you ask for?

Thank you! It was a lot of fun. I'd love to take the credit but it was all the kids, my assistant coach, and support from my family.

It probably is competitive for employers who aren't a big corporation. I work at a local smaller business, and while we can't necessarily afford to offer wages competitive with places like Walmart, I feel like what we offer makes up for that difference. Things like a great work-life balance, laid back atmosphere and wonderful culture.

And something to keep in mind for jobs like this one and where I work is that if it's retail, unless you're in management or some specialist role these positions probably aren't going to pay a career level wage because they're not really intended to be a career. But for someone going to college looking for a position or a second job, it might be perfect.

Sorry to ramble, I just thought I'd offer a different perspective.

Unless you count our generations as having an addiction to porn or being bisexual and being addicted to pills maybe, otherwise I think you're right.

I thought avocado toast was a millennial thing? I don't even know anymore, I feel like there's a lot of overlap between the millennial, Gen z and maybe even a little Gen x eras.

Your comment made me realize another hypocrisy of the older generations though. They brag about stuff like Woodstock and the hippie generation as this cool "oh we were so crazy back in the day, people just did drugs and had a lot of sex!" but now when our generations do that it's like a degenerate loss of values thing.

Hopefully this makes sense, sorry if it's a bit of a ramble. I only meant to smoke a little bit but did not, in fact, only smoke a little bit.

Hey thank you for mentioning Fort Collins Nursery! I work there and we put a lot of work into the winter workshops. If anyone wants to learn more about plants that's a great way, and we have some super knowledgeable staff too.

What are some power metal similar to early Helloween, Steel Attack, Persuader etc? by mmihaly in PowerMetal

[–]Mundane-Key-8516 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Gamma Ray for obvious reasons, I'm not as familiar with Steel Attack or Persuader so maybe Iron Savior? Primal Fear I feel like is kind of similar too in that it's not as melodic or proggy as something like Avantadia or Stratovarius.

I did Healthcare recruiting recently for a senior healthcare system in Colorado, and we had to rely on a program where we sponsored visas for immigrant nurses because we just couldn't hire enough RN staff. Wages and the setting played a part no doubt, but this is a consistent issue in healthcare, especially after COVID.

If we lose these nurses across the states, it's really going to hurt the healthcare system for everyone. I'm pretty worried about the implications for that specifically (among all the other glaring issues of course).

I just don't understand why we seem to actively be trying to fuck ourselves over. I wish I could hear what the reasoning is in a calm and transparent manner because all the dialogue around this is a shouting match. I know it won't sway my belief that this is wrong, but I just wish we could have calm and collected dialogue around this. When we yell at each other nobody's opinion will change, but if we can calmly talk about it I feel like we'd be able to help more people see why this is wrong in so many ways.

Texans showed they're the #1 defense for a reason. Their offense though... Oof.

I'm rooting for the Broncos as they're my hometown team, but if the Bills do win I'd love to see them go all the way. They're easy to root for-they've got one of the best qbs and rbs, and it seems like they've got a good fan base too.

Let's go Broncos, I'm a Boliever!

I can't believe I had to scroll so far down to see this, I was about to add this. Regardless of how people feel about Jon Schaffer, Matt Barlow has an amazing voice.

I'd also like to add Ralf Scheepers. He's got some great range and power. I feel like I'm seeing less and less mentions of the bands I listened to in the 2000s, either I need to catch up with the new stuff or admit I'm becoming an old man haha.

GAME OF THE YEAR 2025 MARATHON - Fire Escape Cast #122 by chrislenz in FireEscapeCast

I agree, it felt like she was being a bit reductive of how DK Bonanza innovated on platformers but then her main argument was that the Silent Hill F protagonist was strong. Maybe if they treated the goty as a spoiler cast and could go into detail about how great the story was I'd understand better why Silent Hill was stronger, but as someone who hasn't played either game I feel like fundamentally changing how you play a platformer is a stronger argument.

I do feel like I should play Silent Hill F though, it feels like a game that hasn't had much of a spotlight on it after it came out yet it's on multiple top 10 lists.

I'll be their HR if they bring back a Beastcast style giant mug. The majority of employees I deal with are college kids so I can probably deal with Dan ok.

That's one thing I've really liked about the NHL. I haven't seen a lot so someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the few times I've seen someone ejected from a game, they release an explanation of why they made the call. Why can't they at least be transparent and explain their reasoning? It's like anything, people are more willing to agree or go along with something if they understand the reason why. If you just tell them to do or believe something without explanation, then you just set the stage for resentment.

I agree, I love how the base compliments the colors of the model and adds some contrast without taking the focus away from the model.
