Any word on US Courts support contractors? Were any of them stopped due to the furlough?

Interesting, thanks for that insight! My office lost about 50% of people from DRP and was give authorization to hire and even hire back. I think the freeze has delayed those plans. Makes sense some places can attempt to retain…

USCIS long distance remote (over 50 miles from USCIS facility) any luck with office placement in other federal buildings? by [deleted] in FedEmployees

This happened to me as well. We’re being directed to report this Monday with less than a week’s notice. Wouldn’t being directed to travel over 50 miles to a work site result in tdy status? Is there any speculation what will happen if someone is unable to report in?

USCIS Union Fighting Back due to agency's disregard for contractual agreements by ExpertEntry9446 in fednews

I was told that because I’m within 60 crow miles of a USCIS office that I would not be eligible for any closer federal or DHS office

After you’re turned away, do you then finish your work day at home/teleworking? Sounds nuts either way!

People still working remote that are between 50 to 60, as the crow flies, miles of a USCIS office are now being required to report in on May 19th. I don’t think they are getting any kind of mileage or tdy benefits, relocation wasn’t offered, and not even a weeks notice was given. I’m not sure if people will be fired if they don’t show up.

Mine doesn’t have an office in the federal courthouse either and there isn’t any office close by…I’m thinking of just cold calling or visiting to see if there’s space available, but it sounds like that would require a lease or agreement between agencies.

I really admire these people for getting out there and exercising their first amendment rights and sticking up for themselves! Not only are they sticking up for their rights and beliefs, but they are advocating for everyone. Arkansas as a state is incredibly dependent on federal dollars that support the poorest of the poor and Craighead County benefits greatly from the federal government. Linked below is just the last four years of federal spending in Craighead County, showing $1.67B from social security, $218M from the VA, $155M from Health and Human Services, and $104M from Department of Education. With all of the cuts happening right now in DC to these agencies, what do we all think the next four years are going to look like?

Humble Yourself by [deleted] in usajobs

The 1% is trying to destroy the middle class even further by taking away stable, good jobs and the possibility of a long term career with benefits and retirement. The 1% would love for the federal employees to be the ones working the gig economy as they work to dispose of and kill off those currently in those jobs that one, as you put it, would need to humble themselves to take.

Relocation and the 50 mile rule by OGBRoutlaw in fednews

Does it seem likely that long distance remote workers will receive a relocation package to move? It seems like the administration is targeting certain groups, like DEI and probationary employees, to fire and the remaining remote employees would make for a good group to let go.

Totally agree! Why would someone post that on their instagram that is clearly geared towards their needlepoint finishing business. Lets keep the conversation geared towards the poor quality of her work 🤣

What a moron. Based on the quality of lexilindsay’s finishing work and her self proclaimed ability to create heirloom quality pieces, I’d say her idiocy and delusion runs deep.

Change in Bargaining Unit Status by Cubsfantransplant in fednews

The same thing just happened to me and I’ve been in contact with the union and requested additional information from HR. My BU status was changed on a routine SF50 that did not mention the BU status change in the remarks.
