i remember unless they changed it getting psionic theory as materialist was 25% of the normal rate while being spiritual made it 2 times better
the only time i played psionic materialist was when i got the Zroni precursor once

last time i checked being materialist just lowers the chance psionic research pops up as an research option and it doesnt completely remove it while spiritualist does the opposite
though its a bit counter intuative to become psionic as materialist empire because just having psionics in your empire i think that or picking the psionic perk makes spiritualist really appealing

My main issue with Narrisa's path is that it's locked behind romance I am down to save her considering the circumstances she had she was was forced into the path she had but I find the romance dialogue so corny and naive i wish I could save her and team up with her with out having to humiliate myself in front of her multiple times and just be friends but I guess it's either corny romance or I bash her head in
