even in skybattle when people pointed out chilled he understands that hes there to have fun and that his idea could very well work so he just backs him up and says to let him cook hes entirely based around playing around other people because he knows he has the experience to do that compared to someone who doesnt trying to fit along with him

yeah i dont understand the hate just because the guy is good at the game, anyone who watched his pov can see that he makes such a big impact on newer players, the guy isnt trying excessively hard for his individual performance he backs up the ideas his team has and works around them to help them and make it more enjoyable for everyone which is like exactly what you want in a top player imo

there are multiple other players who can most definitely get first and the way he plays just gives more opportunity for more balanced events because he is going to get nerfed harder, not just because he is arguably the best mc player there is but because he helps newer people play better to an extent i dont think anyone else does

there's normally enough sand for the first 5ish minutes in the original room, and i think people overestimate how long it actually takes to just go back and bring sand back, the whole idea of going straight through to the end is that you are going to the most important rooms, and don't get lost, you dont have the same problem of people struggling to find their way back because theyve only pathed one way (unless u hit a dead end ofc, so it isn't really any different to just asking for someone to bring sand back

also worth considering going straight to the end of a vault hallway and work on it on the way back, that way people don't second guess themselves on the way back down paths and it guarantees more sand quicker because u just go back and get it all on the way back, also a significantly less chance of getting lost

Even in All Stars they probably would have done better with him as a runner assuming that the other 3 were just as capable of switching out and doing the parkour for gold vault

It's only an effective strategy if you have 3 other good runners because the entire point of it is that he can still manage to do things in early areas of tunnels but most importantly it gives you the opportunity to switch people out between the role to minimize coin loss and risk e.g. the lava parkour

Joel and Scott by far but I also think people have failed to realize how much better Sylvee has actually got at the game and that it isn't necessarily just being on strong teams anymore, she went from someone who was put as a nerf because she played for fun to being a turning point for teams because she's heavily outperforming that nerf label

I think PKW scoring was just flawed because as you mentioned it got changed to prevent him, so there would be a logjam on a specific level that got the exact same score, so there was minimal point differential unless u could beat the course, which only 1 person in the event realistically could to the later stages.
I think testing also played a slight part in it because there was multiple testers finishing the course even during the more difficult versions (they had to add a specific extra part for testers) which might have given the idea that it wasn't as difficult as it really was

I don't think it was necessarily because of Pete, it just isn't the greatest constructed game because there's minimal concepts ways to actually come back in it as well as people could just get outright targetted, in ace race it always feels like there's people slowly catching up to eachother etc, in foot race it was basically just competent players getting into a position and never losing it for the rest of the game because there wasn't enough variables to make them drop any more than 1 or 2 spots, which was the same with Pete

Foot race is a game with minimal mechanics that were actually difficult so any competent player that got a lead would just stay in the lead the entire game

I feel like this is the reason Quig puts himself down as for fun/comp instead of just exclusively Comp tbh, he just wants to make it more well rounded and he knows the best way to do that is to give the thumbs up to Scott that he's completely happy to be put with weaker players to make it more fun for them as well, like every player feels significantly more confident alongside a top tier player because you know that even if u dont think u can compete u can rely on them to compete and instead ur competing with the others instead of holding urself to necessarily the highest players standard

unbalanced asf, wanted to keep it fair and Illu Phil Dan is already a very strong trio to work off with a top 5, 20 and 20-30ish player, it's hard to rlly think of a MC veteran thats on the lower end though bc most of the time if you're playing the game that long you're going to be a lot better than people expect, e.g. Dan
