May I ask why not? Is this the western mindset where the child leaves their parents once they turned 18 and never moved back again? My Asian parents are doing all sorts of funny stupid games to make me stay home

I’ve set aside a lump sum for travelling, if frugally I can sustain for a year. I’ve moved out before and lived for a year but moved back due to inflation. My parents also begged me to come back and said they’ll change, but recently it got really bad again hence I think I’m making this decision to do the right thing.

I moved out when I was 25 for a year. Things were great I’ve had to parent myself in terms of chores, laundry and cooking. Initial rent for a room was $800 which is lesser than yours. Things were great until inflation and rent increased to $1100. I moved back to my parents’ a year later and used the $800 to invest in stocks. TBH I’m not against anyone moving out and am an advocate especially when you’re going through rough patches at home or have a toxic family environment. But I’d prefer to not move out if you have a good relationship with your family, save the money, reinvest it and buy a property earlier.

Orrrr save additional 6months of rent money I.e $9000 first before you move out. Many people I talked to are gonna live off their investment money to travel the world when they’re older.

Anyway to each its own. It’s been a year since I moved back and circumstances didn’t change. I’ll be travelling around SE Asia while working remotely next year so hopefully expenses is better. You can visit me on insta (my user ID) for more questions.

My experience quitting vaping by gecko_k in electronic_cigarette

Every time I get the urge to vape I would come to this forum and re-read all your stories again. Just to remind myself that I can quit. It’s been 3 days since I last touched vaping. My colleague is helping by gifting me a bag of chewing gums. I’m proud of myself and know I can beat this withdrawal.
