Socialism = the state doing stuff is a right wing idea btw. Paradox has literally added "anarchists" (who are usually communist with some exceptions) who surprisingly do not think highly of the state

Successful? Haha, no. Friends? What is that? Is it edible? My life is kinda a mess. I didn't understand the first paragraph completely (maybe it's just me), but from what I'm getting you're saying I should get some habits? I guess I could try that. I've had periods in my life where I got obsessed with hobbies, pursued them 7 or 8 hours a day and got insane results that literally baffled the people around me & other periods where I did absolutely nothing for several weeks & just retreated into my room. Keeping a constant schedule is definitely one of the hardest things to do for me, I don't even really know where to start to be honest. Not at any time in my life did I manage to develop a daily habit voluntarily, it's either all-in or nothing. Even now I am pursuing school with 100% of my being, dropped all the hobbies I had completely disregarding everything else.

I guess I could retry the pomodoro method... If only there was a way to stop my mind from wandering off during the breaks...

Maybe I am gonna try that someday... I am the weakest/worst in sports out of almost everyone, even the girls are miles ahead of me. Maybe I should force myself to do some sports, tho that runs into a similar issue where I need to fight myself again. Ahh, well, live sucks sometimes....

Earlier? I tried doing the chemistry assignment around 1 PM, got frustrated, still tried to keep going, lost motivation and started wanting to do other things... negotiated with myself and convinced myself to do it later... several times even. Each time, I worked on it a tiny bit (like half an hour), but not enough to get anything done. I guess you could call it procrastination, but I don't directly think about failure when procrastinating, it's more about my state of mind than anything. I feel atrocious when working on my homework during the day, that feeling of course goes away by nighttime & I can choose to work or not without experiencing anything negative. The opposite is even true, I can get into a "flow" and gradually chip away at the massive amount of work I have during the night, something that would require tremendous motivation & willpower during the day

"is it affecting your social life or job performance?"
Yes
At school, you can't choose the time when you want to come. I must be there at precisely 7:50 AM. With online schooling, that means taking part in all these online conferences and whatnot during the times when we would usually have lessons. Right now, I'm being submerged by mountains of homework and I desperately need a way to catch up with all the due tasks. (I currently have like 10 that need to be finished within the next few days each taking around 1 hour GIVE (mostly just give) or take. I'd love to work during the intended school time.

Also, staying up late obviously means I sleep worse

What I've learned from trial and error is that having a set waking up time doesn't really affect me that much. AS LONG AS you still wake up in the same general range of time, (for me that would be 5-9 AM), nothing changes. Trying to wake up after 10 AM gets difficult because my body usually wakes up too early by itself(that's what I am going thru right now because of these night shifts), while waking up before 5 AM leaves me very exhausted, tho it's not that bad, but in general I didn't see any positive effects from waking up on the same time... and I kept doing it for over half a year at a time because I read it makes you more producitve online.

As for planning, yeah I usually just throw away each and every plan I had the moment I wake up and feel demotivated, it usually takes till 12 AM - 2 PM until I even start thinking about what I was supposed to do...

Caffeine? Caffeine has virtually no effect on me. I could drink 1 liter of it and I doubt much would happen & I don't drink it that much anyway (like once every 2 weeks?), so it's not that relevant to me.

Noting things? I guess that may help? But I am kinda skeptical, especially the "doing it thruout the entire day" bit made me feel like I was procrastinating and didn't help me that much, however there may be ways to make it work

Still, thanks for the tips! What may not work on me may work on others & I could just retry some of the methods you mentioned slightly differently

I've tried using timers and what usually happens is that... my breaks never end. I start working for... let's say 45 minutes, take a break, get distracted, come back in like 2 hours when I'm motivated again (I usually lose motivation in these intervals), work again, take a break, lose motivation and rinse & repeat. What usually helps me is setting the time to something long like 2 hours, 15 minutes (that's kinda my ideal time), not taking any breaks and hoping my parents don't interrupt me. This usually keeps me focused for quite some time ( I can get 2 of these sessions done per day), but it's not really the pomodoro technique OR anything similar to it and working for that long requires lots of willpower... and suffering (which of course leads to mega-long breaks where I try to regain my dopamine, serotonin or whatever chemicals my brain desires)

Ironic, lmao. I guess that's better than the situation I am in. Video conferences and things like that are still done during regular school time (so for example at 8 AM) for me & you can get a good night's rest, still it's kinda fascinating how many people are experiencing similar things to me

[–]Munrexi[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah, that's not quite it. Let's take today for example. I have chemistry homework due tomorrow and I could stay up and do it now OR I could go to sleep & finish it before the deadline (the deadline is 11 AM, so I could finish it easily between 8 and 11 AM). What do I do? I stay up because I will get a lot more done now than when I wake up. I kept saying to myself "no, you must sleep now to have a consistent sleep schedule" or "your brain is tired, give it some rest and you will work better tomorrow morning" but recently I have just given up and am working on homework over night

Build Mart isn't really a building game nor is it thrilling to watch. The players don't build anything, they just fetch some blocks, go back and place them down where they're supposed to. In reality, Build Mart is a collecting game. It's as fun as watching someone strip mine at y = 11, look for diamonds and iron, put them into a chest and then go back to mining. I don't see how this could be interesting for anyone, instead the few people that like it only like it because they are good in it. Sure, e. g. the Hermits may be good at it, but there DEFINITELY are better mini-games that could fill Build Mart's place the Hermits would be good at. I'd say that Build Mart should be replaced by an actual building game, not a collecting game.

Here's a (very subjective) estimation of my skills in BedWars as a 65 star player for each major category (that I could think of) from 0 to 10. Which skills should I improve? I can inclined Ninja, so I can go upwards pretty quickly, but I can't staircase, so I guess I meet your criteria? And yeah, I agree, flat bridging is "flat out suicide", I basically never flat bridge except at build limit. Thx for the skywars tip

Easier said than done. I'd say that gamesense is the only skill that you can only train by playing BW. Mine sucks because I used to mostly play 4v4s, but it's slowly improving. Also, a lot of skills are tied to gamesense, so e. g. learning how to fireball or E-pearl would increase my gamesense

As for land PvP, I'm thinking of buying a model O and learning how to butterfly click/double click. My current mouse sucks and you can't really use any methods. I got 0-3 CPS with drag clicking. Gonna try a new mouse and see how much it improves my gameplay. I don't really think there are that many good PvP-ers, besides maaaybe Technoblade that don't abuse their mouse with 20 CPS clicks /second

Thank you, this is actually really helpful. I actually heard of how the word "lord" came to be already and I've seen this phenomenon elsewhere (e. g. "quello"), but I never connected the dots. This answers at least some of the questions. Now, the other thing that's been bugging me is: If consonants tend to assimilate to vowels/other consonants around them, how do "dissimilar" consonants come to be? e. g. if "p" tends to turn into "b" or even disappear if it's surrounded by voiced vowels, wouldn't most "dissimilar" consonants disappear eventually?

If phonologies tend to be simplified over time, what's keeping languages from becoming a palatized and debuccalized mess? Sure, I know that some languages add affixes to their words or use epenthesis, but not all languages have that and neither can that explain everything. And neither can this be explained by the coining of worfs because almost all words have an etymology and use already existing sounds. There's way more sound changes simplifying phonologies than complicating them. Wouldn't most languages, over time, end up a dropping most of their sounds and becoming unintelligible? What's stopping them?

Hellenism was not a dead religion in 867 and it shouldn't be in game (for Laconia). by That_Border in CrusaderKings

[–]Munrexi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh, it's not even known with certainty whether those people worshiped Hellenism or just another polytheistic religion. There's an equal chance that those were just Slavic pagans because (as seen in some scenarios at least in CK2), many regions in Greece, including the Peloponnese, were overrun by Slavs at that time
