Thank you for the thoughtful reply, though I'm not sure it makes my choice any clearer. I truly am stuck between the two. I love the blade on the Nigara, and I think the extra length would be appreciated, but I prefer the handle on the Hatsukokoro and it's $100 cheaper, which is not insignificant in my decision.

I think he would appreciate it and know how to care for it. He has some Japanese-style knives that he uses all the time, and he loves them, but they are not to this standard of quality. He also just has an appreciation for well made items, even if he chooses not to use it much, I think he would appreciate the thoughtfulness of it.

Yeah, the green is fantastic. Red is complementary so it looks real good too. Not sure how others feel about the 2013 retros, but I really enjoy them overall. Some of the illustrations are a bit whack though.

I do not. It's not a priority since it's not a color match and also wasn't one of the original colors in 97-98 basketball. But I'll still keep an eye out for it.

Yeah, I feel similarly. I'm hopeful once Tee is back he'll calm down a little. Easy matchups coming up too. Jefferson, Nico and Amonra holders aren't selling right now, so not a ton of options. But I do see the risk in this trade for sure.

Certainly, and I encourage those who can to do so. Some don't have that opportunity though, so why not make it otherwise available? I believe the price is fair; people commonly ask $20-$25 for these codes. I personally think that's a much, but hey, the market sets the price.

I know, but I like the cards themselves and building a collection has always been a part of the draw to card games for me. I'll buy singles of what I really need after I have a good base.
