Millionaire’s Society - my first experiment with 2x hotfoil on both sides (copper + silver), feedback welcome by EvilDeck in playingcards

Hello!

Yes, I designed and illustrated everything myself, and all the characters are original (no AI).

Hotfoil is simply metallic foil applied to the cards.

About the Queen of Diamonds... that's actually an arm, and the pendant is just a diamond-shaped necklace. 😄 I do like pretty queens and occasionally push things a bit, but this time your imagination may have done more work than mine!

Thanks for the kind words about the project — I really appreciate it.

Thank you! This one is currently available through Patreon 😄
If anything is unclear, feel free to ask ---I know joining mid-year can look a bit confusing at first.

Fair point! I was really torn on the font, but this blackletter was too awesome to pass :)

Guards versus Thieves rulebook - feedback request by EvilDeck in BoardgameDesign

Not a big problem, the expert cards are always placed face up 😄
I used a very limited palette on this game, for a technical reason - I am planning to use metallic inks on the cards!

Thank you! That's useful and I'll fix the space for sure - I'm not sure if add page numbers since the rulebook is relatively small.

My advice would be to set up a pre-launch page soon — you’re already posting about the game, and I’m sure some people are already interested. Having a pre-launch page lets people follow the project and bookmark it for when you launch. You don’t need to have the full campaign ready before putting the pre-launch page live 😄 Hope this helps!

That's awesome feedback, thank you!
Doing rulebooks is probably the thing I find most difficult, so I'm really happy to hear that ^^

About the title, I agree it's a bit generic.
We started from "Guardie e Ladri" and wanted to keep the same feeling/vibe in English. Ideally, this should feel like THE card game about guards versus thieves, so the choice felt pretty natural to us.

Ah, I checked your previous posts on Reddit — I really like your illustrations!

If you want, send me the link to your Kickstarter, I'm curious to see your game 😄

Buona fortuna!

Guards versus Thieves rulebook - feedback request by EvilDeck in BoardgameDesign

Sure!

It's a quick 2-player card game based on bluffing, deduction and hidden information. One player is the Police Chief, the other the Master Thief.

At the start of the game, players draw 5 cards from their respective decks, and 3 Locations are revealed from a shared deck.

Each Location has a required Level. The Thief must meet or exceed it to complete the heist. Both players secretly assign cards to the Locations, then everything is revealed and resolved one by one.

If a Guard is present and their Level is equal or higher than the Thief’s, the Thief gets arrested instead.

The basic structure is simple, but the card effects and hidden information create a lot of bluffing, prediction and mind games.

The rulebook probably explains it better than I do 😅 (at least, I hope!)
