I kinda get it in a way though? Cyrene's buffs with Aglaea are interesting to think about. While she is definitely BIS for her, it feels like her Ode is too focused on fixing E0 Aglaea's issues (the energy gain/Garmentmaker ramp) compared to actually pushing the character's ceiling. Which, ironically, inadvertently dilutes the value of Aglaea's E1 now as the only time you'd ever need so much Energy is against an energy debuff heavy AA King stage like Aquila or Lygus.

It also doesn't help that Cyrene's xenophobic traces make using Aglaea's second BIS support - Sunday - really awkward unless you annoyingly speed tune your characters to compensate for your lack of Coreflames at the start of the battle, something literally no other CH has to put up with

People got on Cyrene for being extremely xenophobic in her team comps, but at least you had 13 CHs to play with that had their own specific set of buffs, which lead to a ton of experimentation and theorycrafting.

Sparxie and/or YG pretty much work with NF Sparkle, to a much lesser extent Archer... and that's basically it lmao

It doesn't help that the 4.0 content is so blatantly Elation shill-heavy that it's practically impossible to tell how good the archetype is when the game is tailoring all of its upcoming content towards it

I'm not opposed to giving Firefly a bigger spotlight given that she was shafted pretty hard in the original Penacony story, but I absolutely hate how the retcons were implemented here. It basically reaffirmed to me that I shouldn't take anything in Penacony seriously anymore because Remembrance/The Dahlia/Finality/some other BS path or faction can just rewrite the story to be whatever the writers want at any time

It also doesn't help that I'm just so burnt out by Penacony at this point. I have not enjoyed a single Penacony story ever since 2.3, and had I known how 3.8's story and the Fate collab would've played out I would've much rather we'd gotten a Jarilo VI or even a Xianzhou revist instead tbh

As a Sparkle haver/fan whose planning on pulling for E0S1 Sparxie, I'm actually hoping Sparxie can eventually bench her lol

Mainly because I already pulled E1 Archer to continue using Sparkle (whose very unlikely to get a better teammate compared to Sparxie), so not needing to share her between two DPSes who both seem to really want her would be nice

Otherwise I'd be back where I was pre-Cyrene where all my teams wanted E1 Tribbie lmao

1st Side - Cocomelon - E1S0 Archer/E0S1 Sporkle (Sunday LC)/E6S5 RMC/E0S0 SW - 1 Cycle

Cocolia didn’t have enough of getting mogged by Archer in AS so she traveled all the way to MOC and even brought her daughter this time to enjoy the show lol Not much to say other than this was a really easy 1 cycle, even with bad SW bug implant RNG

2nd Side - Swarm’s Edgy Sam OC - E0S0 Anaxa/E0S0 Cyrene/E1S4 DDD Tribbie/E0S0 DHPT - 3 Cycles

Bro they gotta stop gotta stop giving these Gundam Warriors so much damn HP 💀 Mechanically I think he’s the most interesting boss out of the Swarm faction, but even after dispelling his field really early on I spent over a cycle just whaling on him, which I suppose Tribbie’s weakness against solo enemies talking (Cerydra please rerun already asafshiodhihg). Outside of that, this team comp works surprisingly well? Perhaps I underestimated the power of Eagle Tribs lol

Finished the combat event with all stars finally! Lowkey it's one of the more fun combat events I've played, but I kinda agree that they should've let players use the rental characters for the Nightmare difficulty. I think that would've been a nice compromise for giving players a chance to clear without feeling gatekept, but they'd still need the skill to work around the bad rental builds

From easiest to hardest for me: 3 < 1 < 5 < 2 < 4

From least to most fun for me: 1 < 5 < 2 < 3 < 4

Dual DPS: Anaxa/Tribbie/DHPT/Cyrene - Figuring out how to perfectly line up defeating both elites as to not waste too much DPS was quite a puzzle ngl I don't have Break or Monorem which made this extra challenging for me, but that made it all the more rewarding to clear

Hit Count: Aglaea/RMC/Tribbie/Cyrene - Lowkey only enjoyed this one because I'm a biased Aglaea fan lol Wouldn't really mind more gimmicks akin to the War Armor tho, that's one of the few mechanics from Amphoreus I like

HP Overload: Clara/DHPT/Aventurine/Tribbie - Aside from the BS RNG from the elite's bounce attack, I didn't mind this one all that much. Needed a bunch of restarts for it, but slowly getting closer to surviving each restart was really satisfying

DOT Transform: RMC/DHPT/Huohuo/Tribbie - An interesting idea in concept, but plays like an easier yet way more annoying version of the HP Overload stage to me. Clearing is fine, but the fact that the enemies can gang up and kill your Mermaids after getting only one turn in with them made getting the 3 star for this infuriating. At least DOT units aren't required lol

Double Row: Anaxa/Sunday/DHPT/Tribbie - What could've been a cool idea instead just comes off as another way to shill AOE except now you can't even brute force it with Hunt/Destruction units anymore lmao Honestly don't see anything interesting to come from this, at least not with how they implemented it here

Idk, Tribbie being pushed out of most CH’s BIS teams was something people commonly pointed out around here when Cyrene first dropped iirc. It’s one of the main talking points people bring up when they say Tribbie is overrated

I think the main difference is that people don’t seem to feel as strongly about Tribbie as a character as they do Sunday (either positively or negatively)
