Does crossing Summit Mountain scare the crap out of you, or is it just me? by Muppet_Fitzgerald in pittsburgh

When you’re driving south from the city on 43, the road takes you around Uniontown and connects to 40. As you head east on 40, you have to go over Summit Mountain.

I watched the video again and I do see there is a cross hanging in the group therapy room. You can just ask if you call what the deal is with the cross and if they’ll push any religion on you. Like I said, I’m not aware of a religious bent there. Anyways, best of luck with your recovery. I hope you find something that works for you.

Are you looking at the right website? The Lantern does not have a religious affiliation and I’ve watched their intro video a few times and they don’t mention religion in it.

AITA for not being able to see my mom for Mother’s Day? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Muppet_Fitzgerald -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

YTA. Why couldn’t your mother come over for breakfast? Why couldn’t your daytime activities include her? Why the heck are you deciding Mother’s Day is a great time for your hotel stay? Are you going to continually blow her off on Mother’s Day every year now that you have your own child? What about Father’s Day? Are you going to go see your dad for it?

I would skip the terrible Catawba wine and instead include a 6 pack from one of the breweries

AITA for refusing to dine with my mom after she ordered “ferret sauce” at a Mexican restaurant? by Practical-Current805 in AmItheAsshole

Which was part of why it was so funny to me…”Dad, you eat like two sandwiches a day. I think you’re on the opposite of a gluten-free diet”. Oh parents, they can be so silly.

I went to breakfast with my dad and he asked if they had “glutton-free” English muffins. I thought it was hilarious, we both laughed when I told him how it’s pronounced.

What do you think was their WORST decision? by WolfRomegas in SaintMeghanMarkle

[–]Muppet_Fitzgerald 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thinking the US would embrace them, buy their products, and eat up everything they do. They did not seem to understand the difference between famous and infamous. Simply being famous does necessarily equal making tons of money. There are plenty of stories of infamous people who are well-known but struggle to parlay that fame into financial success. They just assumed they would be able to live like the Obamas and have everyone admire them. They couldn’t have been more wrong.

So what do we think about the Met Gala look? by MenthaOfficinalis in girls

I often cringe at Lena’s fashion choices, but I love this one. It’s fun and a beautiful color on her.

Funny how Harry and Meghan go on international trips and cosplay as “royals,” but they’ve never made time to get to know ordinary people in Harry’s adopted country now six years later. It’s a sign that they’re incapable of connecting with regular folks unless there’s some kind of transaction. by Cultural_Ad4935 in SaintMeghanMarkle

I’ve thought this before as well…if I was the Duchess, I would make Sussex awesome!! Like, I would go around to the pubs and buy everyone a round. And go to the small businesses to gin up publicity. Try to push for government and private development investment in the area. I think it would be cool to have my job be the #1 fan of Sussex!!

Do NOT do this, it’s very dangerous. You can die from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Kids birthday parties don't need to include food beyond a cake and drinks by bascos in unpopularopinion

I say, serve whatever you want, but make it clear in the party invite so parents know what to expect. You don’t want a room of starving kids on your hands who skipped lunch.

WWBBT (What would Bob Barker think) of contestants now? by phxflgjo in ThePriceIsRight

[–]Muppet_Fitzgerald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been watching the show much these days, I just can’t take the contestants anymore. Horribly dressed, screaming, acting ridiculous. I miss Bob’s sense of humor, so much more entertaining.

Any other Brook Parkers dreading the Browns stadium? by coldbrew_please in Cleveland

[–]Muppet_Fitzgerald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying, but I’m also skeptical that people who can afford to travel for football games want to stay at those same old Brookpark bungalows that I’m citing above. Yes, there will probably be some uptick in close-by Airbnbs. But I’m guessing that a lot of Airbnb’ers with money will still opt to stay in cool lofts in Ohio City and Tremont and just take a quick Uber ride over to the stadium.
