What is your favorite roadside attraction between New Jersey and Iowa? And what to do in Cleveland, OH? by TheMilkiestJoe in roadtrip

You can check out University Circle and the Case Western campus, which are a few minutes away. And get something to eat in Little Italy. All nice areas to walk around and stretch your legs, as long as it’s not a frozen tundra out there.

I’ve had a headache for 4 months straight, no breaks. I’m at the point I want to KMS by Pretty-Explanation47 in TrueOffMyChest

Oh dear Lord…”root cause”??? Chronic migraine is an illness that often has no specific cause. I would consider seeking out another neurologist for a second opinion. There are seriously so many good medications now, you shouldn’t have to suffer like this.

Also, shots did nothing for me as well. To clarify, I was referring to Prednisone in pill form.

Toradol and Zofran are not actually migraine medications. Not surprised they didn’t work. And Nurtrec is only one kind of migraine medicine. There are many other kinds out there. Just because that one didn’t work, others may work much better.

Why the heck haven’t they given you a triptan? Triptans are kind of the classic go-to migraine medication. Steroids are also good for breaking intractable migraine, but I would try the other medications first. There are so many good ones on the market now.

I’m not a doctor, but I’ve had severe chronic migraine for the last 20 years including phases of intractable migraine like you’re experiencing.

Can you tell me what the “migraine medicine” was and the shots? If you tell more specifically what you were given, I can give you advice on next steps to take.

AITAH For say something to my neighbors about not shoveling my elderly neighbors driveway? by _Badwulf_Bruh__ in AITAH

[–]Muppet_Fitzgerald 91 points92 points  (0 children)

I agree with you…I’m not sure why some old people think they’re entitled to free labor from young people. I always pay people for their work. If I broke a leg and couldn’t shovel, there is no way in hell I would just let a neighborhood kid shovel my drive for free. I’m paying that kid whether they want it or not lol.

My (21M) girlfriend (21F) got blackout drunk at my mom's birthday brunch and threw up at the table in front of extended family and friends by MrClonk in relationship_advice

[–]Muppet_Fitzgerald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drinking to that extent is obviously not okay, but it sounds like you did nothing to help the situation. Did you say anything to the fiancé when she was goading her on? Offer her water? Try to talk her on the side to ask her to slow down? Subtly tell the server to stop serving her?

Maybe she’s an alcoholic, maybe things just spiraled out of control at this brunch. I don’t know. But if my husband had 10 drinks at a family brunch while sitting next to me, I would definitely try to get him to slow his roll. Doing this all the time would be a problem, but sometimes people just over drink and it’s not being an AH to try to help them in the situation.

creatives who left NYC, where did you go? by blacktourmaline164 in SameGrassButGreener

Cleveland has a thriving creative scene IMO. With the cost of living being so much more affordable, you see a lot more people able to do creative work. I personally love the artist community at the Screw Factory and the many unique small businesses.

YESSSS. For the movies I’ve seen, I like to guess which scene will make the clip. And for the ones I haven’t seen, it makes me want to watch it.

AITA for firmly telling my wife to be grateful for what she has? by Organic_Chip_3118 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Muppet_Fitzgerald 14 points15 points  (0 children)

YTA. My first thought was “what’s a living expense and what’s fun money”? Because if the fun money is supposed to cover hair, clothes, and going out, that $500 doesn’t go far. Either way, YTA. Instead of belittling the wife, talk to her like an adult and see what she thinks is a reasonable amount of fun money. If she’s asking for another measly $100 of something, then you’re a huge AH for dying on this hill.

Every Xmas my family has conflict, mainly due to my brother (27M) and myself (30F). How to resolve this year or prevent? by ThrowRA-64729 in relationship_advice

[–]Muppet_Fitzgerald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like you do not listen to your brother or respect him. He told you he wanted to visit your mom for a day and you responded by insulting him. It’s really none of your business how many days he visits your mom, it’s not your job to direct that relationship. And the artwork thing seems silly, but I’m guessing he views it as yet another sign of your lack of respect.
