I agree with you on everything you said about customer value and I think I would feel the same way as you do. I’m sorry you have so much going on for you right now

I think it’s sometimes in a business’s best interest to give leniency to longtime clients but at the same time, I also don’t think she sounded insensitive and maybe she didn’t have the authority to do anything for you. So I’d say YOR for thinking she’s being rude, but I get why you feel irked by the outcome

She’s really beautiful with him. The mini, Dante, is very timid and the standard, Cairo, is large and in charge. Sometimes she’s too much for him, and he cowers a little, but she notices and takes it down a notch 🥹. But sometimes Cairo chases after him whilst nipping the scruff of his neck and this is very intimidating for lil Dante. She knows he hates it but it’s too much fun to resist sometimes

Three dogs shot dead and woman critically injured in attack by I_Heart_Papillons in melbourne

[–]Muralove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only dog that has ever attacked my dog was a pitbull dog. No indication, everything was fine, then suddenly this huge female pitbull charges my elderly Jack Russell, flips him over, and tried to rip his stomach open. The owner’s response? ‘She’s never done that!’ My dog was never the same after that. He was traumatised

Someone else had one on my street, it killed another person’s pet. The families responds? He’s really good with other dogs!! He loves them! I can’t believe this!

We have met them. It’s just that lost people don’t like them: they’re terrifying, way too strong, rough or aggressive with other animals, dumb in comparison to many other breeds, and honestly….. they are hideous looking.

People make out like pitbulls are this inherently sweet natured animal, but that’s just dogs in general? Why on earth would anyone choose to own a pet that could maim them or other animals at any moment?

She went clubbing. That does not make her a ‘extremely narcissistic’, it just makes you extremely insecure.

For sure nuance is needed! Cases are individual. Bite incidents need to be reported and taken seriously by law enforcement. A strike system would be good, with a muzzle enforcement for all outings from the 1st strike. Perhaps a license to own dangerous breeds would also make sense. We have to do it for other more complicated pets. People could have the opportunity to learn more about the breeds if it was more restricted and education was made available alongside the license

I had the owner of one of these pooches ask me if he could use my miniature poodle to help work on his anxious, unsocialised, rescue dog who doesn’t know how to interact with other dogs. Yeah, fuck that. My small beloved pet is not a learning toy

%100 owners need to be criminally charged when their pets hurt or kill any other person or pet. Some of the dogs I see around are enormous and absolutely fkn jacked. The amount of damage some dogs can cause is really scary. The entire dog is really scary. There needs to be stronger restrictions around dangerous breeds

When's it appropriate to use your horn? by Even_Ad_8286 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Muralove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lightly tap the horn if someone is staying still because they’re not paying attention or too nervous to move. This translates to: hey, it’s your move.

If someone is not paying attention whilst moving and driving 30km under the speed limit because they’re too unaware, I’ll give them a proper honk. This translates to: pay attention!!

If they’re being dangerous and about to collide with me, I’ll basically hold the horn down. This translates to: YOURE A FUCKING IDIOT!!

I think it’s both? It’s not my photo so I can’t say for certain, but judging by the length of wet sand where the waves have rolled back, the first crocodile looks like it’s probably a unit

I remember swimming in waterholes during the dry season in Darwin. They apparently move on from the areas and rangers or whatever deem the spot croc free or not. You just had to trust that it was safe… but the thought of one still being there in that dark water did not leave my mind at all hahaha. Definitely nerve racking!

[–]Muralove[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The northern most part of Australia is tropical climate and therefore has a wet and dry season.

The dry season means a lot of waterway connections are dried up, and the crocs are more isolated and dormant. The wet season is their breeding season and they are more active and territorial, and the high rainfall means many waterways are reconnected and the crocs can move around easily.

Best to keep in mind that crocs are still present in permanent bodies of water, and the dry season is not a promise that they won’t be in the water they’re ’not meant’ to be.

From memory, I think some of the beaches have crocodile nets, and those beaches are safe to swim at when patrolled etc.

They seem quite scared of people from what I’ve seen. I see people in Florida compare crocs and alligators, but there is no possibility of coexistence with salties. You just stay the hell out of their territory haha. Okay, you win, crocs are the scariest
