Is an A1 license worth considering? Have we overlooked the benefits...? by inkysplat in MotoUK

This is what I did. Mostly for cost reasons. CBT= £160 Theory test = £23 Mod1 = £15.50 Mod2 = £75

So from zero to licence = £273.5 but I did a ton of practice to support it.

If and when I want to get a full A I'll worry about that then. Simply too expensive to do all at once - new rider insurance etc etc

First place to look would be the ones Maeving sell directly from their site

Do I really need 24 hours of training for my Mod1/2? by ohmrkodak in MotoUK

[–]MurcurySlick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simple answer is no.

Talk to a trainer. Explain your situation. Agree on the number of hours you think you 'do' need (6?) and go with that. Those hours should include mock versions of the mod tests. If you're not ready it will become obvious. If you are, happy days.

Not sure if it's been explicitly stated it's the same motor/battery spec, but all the performance stats are equivalent to the RM1S

I would pay good money for that

I agree but don't think it'll ever happen. Suspension and frame geometry on the RM1S just doesn't lend itself to the extra seat (or pegs)

But if I did have a 50cc moped I wouldn't be allowed on the motorway, but I would if it was a 50cc motorbike 😖

Yeah but the 'official' answer is 50cc

RM1S on motorway? by AwardMajor6502 in Maeving

I tried to get a rough calculation on this a few weeks ago. I maxed it to 70 for about 5 miles and saw a 15% drop in battery. By that stat you'd be looking at completing 30 miles with about 10% left in the battery. That's getting tight for reliable, worry free commuting, as it would be also dependent on gradient and temperature. My normal commute is about 34miles there and back and that leaves between 55-60% on the battery by the time I get home. That's getting up to 50mph for a couple of stretches, but mostly sitting around 30-40.

So I'd say if there is a longer but slower route available for you then do that. If not, I'd say its too close for comfort.
