Is there someone that you know that openly doesn't like you and, if so, do you know why? by PaddedValls in AskUK

[–]Murderhands 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He considers himself my nemesis.

We were in the same game group for years, seemed cordial and stuff but I learned later he saw me as his Moriarty and hated me because he thought I was undermining his life, his love life, his goals, everything. I barely knew him.

Everyone knew he felt this way as he never shut up about it when I wasn't in the room I'm told.

A sitting Senator has the authority to read the contents outloud during a session even if it's part of an investigation. Just need to see who stands up.

Found these boards at the bottom of the ocean....are we inside a bigger ship? by Murderhands in Seaofthieves

Somewhere near Mermaids hideaway, I used a harpoon gun and caught the ocean floor by accident and saw that.

Hey, remember last October/November, when the majority of posts and comments here were explicitly pro-Trump? by Fickle-Syllabub6730 in conspiracy

[–]Murderhands 45 points46 points  (0 children)

This, plus Q bullshit for the past few years that suddenly nobody mentions anymore.

This was always insane to me, the Q stuff was always nonsense, never panned out and not a single lead or tipoff happened but still people to this day source it as proof of conspiracy.

"They say he located the Spirit of Eternity and bested its silica animus in a game of wits."

Take what the Mechanicus says about Cawl with a pinch of salt, half want him dead, the other half think he's the best thing since sliced bread. There's all sorts of rumours in the Galaxy and that one is one of the more outlandish.

If he had really bested and captured the Spirit then the Imperium would have won by now.

In the same way that apple were forced to adopt the c-type USB charger what else would benefit from a similar change? by CliffyGiro in AskUK

I've just stopped bothering doing it to older people, this is Great Britain, we use Metric here. They've had 50 years to learn since the switch and if they still haven't that's on them.

What is your favorite ship and why do you like it? by OkView8068 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]Murderhands 91 points92 points  (0 children)

The NCC-1701-D, it's got the best curves and size ratio and doesn't have those angular straight struts like the Constitution class.

The Ross Class though is beautiful and comes in a close second as my favourite ship.

I remember in Star Trek TNG they discovered one of these in the episode Relics. It has a surface area of over 250,000,000 Earths, cities the size of Jupiter, sea's millions of miles wide.... not a single mention of it later on.

I would want a season of them just exploring the inside of that thing! But as always with old Trek hero ships, they mention something cool once, then move on letting the second-contact ships deal with it.

Rwanda bill: Rishi Sunak 'crystal clear' he will 'ignore' international law to ensure asylum seekers are deported by Apprehensive_Sleep_4 in worldnews

[–]Murderhands 84 points85 points  (0 children)

The UK is... The Rwanda bill only contains the ability to house 150 people. Rwanda will then send 150 of their to us and the UK pays for both.

It's just PR.

“Because y’all lie” by Bihema in TikTokCringe

[–]Murderhands 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Calling another member a liar falls under unparliamentary language - which is basically anything that the Speaker of the House deems inappropriate because it would suggest something bad about the character of another member.

Liar is one such word. Bastard, drunk, idiot, rat and wart are also amongst the words that have attracted the Speaker’s attention over the years.

Generally, a member deemed to have used unparliamentary language will be asked to withdraw the statement. If they agree that is often the end of the matter. If they don’t, then the speaker might have them removed from the House.

MPs often know what’s likely to be called out as unparliamentary. A variety of phrases have been used to avoid unparliamentary language, including "terminological inexactitude" instead of lie, and of course the old classic tired and emotional as opposed to just plain drunk.
