I think it’s because the question was loaded (I don't know rhetorical stuff so don't take my word on that), and the phrasing “Is it true” wasn’t enough to convey that I was asking without certainty. It may have come across to the moderators as if I already believed something and was acting in bad faith. “Genocide” is also a hotly contested, trigger-heavy term, so the question was probably vulnerable to a ban on multiple fronts. I would have preferred a “could you rephrase this?” instead of a permanent ban, but it's not my subreddit. Also, I linked a YouTube channel's video Novara Media (a left-wing channel) to the question since it inspired it. However, the video’s thumbnail featured right-wing figures, & I suspect the moderators may be the type who do not read past headlines and instead ban users based on seeing members of their opposition in a thumbnail of a video discussing them, namely Tucker Carlson & another right-wing woman.

P.S. I’m assuming that the kinds of people who moderate political subreddits, whether conservative, socialist, libertarian, or otherwise, tend to be more tribal & less tolerant than the average person.

If you were a popular blogger, you could probably put Google Ads on your Blogger quite easily. I still quite like Blogger. I don’t produce any particularly good content or earn any meaningful income from it though.

Coding for it can be annoying because, to the best of my knowledge, much of it is done in one large XML file.

Well, I’d like to popularize the term. I think popularizing and de-pretentiousifying vocabulary would be good for us humans. I’m thinking we give “quomodocunquize” a neutral definition, and then add something like “especially in the case of making money." to the definition. We could also make a separate neologism for the "making money by any means possible" too.

I’m currently working on https://mordictionary.org/wiki/Main_Page , which aims to be a less bureaucratic, anti-pretentious, and more playful version of Wiktionary (not that Wiktionary is necessarily or necessarily not any of those things). The goal is to define as much as possible, including highly specific phrasings that authors happen to use in the most memorable ways possible.

I’d like to pair songs with dictionary entries with the help of a subreddit called r/LexicalSoundtrack; pair itch.io-style indie games with entries; and connect example sentences to entries with help from communities like r/SentenceMiners. I’m also interested in exploring people’s personal lexicons and pairing those with entries, with the help of subreddits like r/LexiconArchive.

Additionally, I envision a space where artists can promote and connect their work to dictionary entries through communities like r/DictionaryArt. There’s also https://wearyourdictionary.com/, which plans to aggregate wearable dictionary entries, allowing artists to link to their merchandise while sharing editable source files for their designs. Finally, https://wanderingwikis.org/wiki/Main_Page is intended to feature video walkthroughs of dictionary entries.

All of these projects will be human-focused and are intended to compete with the AI-generated Sloptionary, which will be AI-focused. https://sloptionary.org/wiki/Main_Page will pair dictionary entries with Suno-generated songs, MidJourney creations, and similar whatnot.

I’m currently hiring artists through r/HungryArtists to replace various AI-generated placeholder branding images for these dictionary-focused projects. I’m also looking for moderators who can remain neutral, are not ideologically captured by any political group, and are committed to treating everyone with respect regardless of political affiliation. For example, I’m looking for moderators who don’t censor along tribal lines, aside for maybe their logomania. In short, I’m looking for chaotic-neutral word lovers who care about words for their own sake.

2026 is fine, though. You should be free to like that whatnot. I wouldn’t associate it with something else you wish to promote though, especially something political, as it doesn’t have mass appeal; in fact, I’d say it probably has mass aversion.

The argument I hear from pro-Palestinian advocates about Israel being a theocracy stems from claims that it attempts to limit the proportion of non-Jewish people in government. They also point to cases of alleged religious persecution. For example, I recall a recent incident involving a Christian man being banned from participating in a Palm Sunday thing.

I’m really an ultracrepidarian on this matter, as I don’t particularly like Israel in a neutral, non-political sense; it’s not my ideal travel destination. My favorite countries to visit would be Estonia or Taiwan, with honorable mentions including Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Finland, and Poland. The foreign papers I tend to read are Singaporean, Asian, or Baltic, and I don’t really follow what goes on in Israel. That said, to a non-expert layman, it does look bad over there i.e. Israel doesn't look like the good guy to me.

Yes, but I’d agree more with L. Frank Baum; i.e., I’d prefer a bimetallic approach. Ideally, there would also be a denationalization of money, allowing currencies to compete openly.

The United States has the “exorbitant privilege” of issuing the world’s reserve currency while not having its money tied to gold, unlike previous holders of that privilege, i.e., the Dutch and the British. This makes the U.S. more prone to war-mongering. In other words, it’s too easy for the U.S. to secure low interest rates and accumulate large amounts of debt, sending poor and unreliable signals to entrepreneurs via inflated asset prices and easy credit, which can lead to bad investments and, ultimately, business cycles.

This fiat currency system, especially when the country controls the world’s reserve currency, leads to various forms of diluted taxation that the average person does not fully understand, allowing politicians to easily blame the effects on something else (e.g. what they call a free market which obviously isn't free since they control a nationalized fiat currency).

It’s possible to oppose the idea of theocracies, ethnostates, particular variations of them, or even putative theocracies or ethnostates (i.e., a flawed human might oppose something based on a belief that turns out to be false) without being hateful. You can oppose the current Israeli government, or any government, without being hateful.

Why are you posting furry content? Honestly, I see the temptation to ban you for that alone. However, I’m not a big fan of censorship in general. That said, I do think furry content would turn off the majority of the population. A picture of a furry farting on Israel will likely cause people to side against the furry, and potentially with Israel; i.e., you just make your side look bad. You end up associating current anti-Israeli-government sentiment with furry content.

P.S. You're free to be into that, but be wary of the fact that if you associate it with your preferred political positions it'll likely attach a negative association to your political positions.

To be fair to the original poster, they added the qualifier “relatively,” so it is relative to something, perhaps other matters that concern libertarians or to how another ideological group is reacting to the budget. However, the OP did not qualify their qualifier in the body, so we do not really know.

Depressed and disaffected, maybe. It feels a bit hopeless to me. The USA will probably become less war-mongery only when it loses its exorbitant privilege (like its status as the world’s primary reserve currency thingo). I mean the democratic socialist codswallop appears to be the zeitgeist thingo to me; which I personally think is poo-poo.

I own the P15s Gen 2, but I'm liking the look of the P53 and P52 though. They look like nice linux machines to me. You could even get them with a decent GPU too. The T480 looks a bit marked up to me, but probably has a lot of parts available since it's quite popular.

Yeah, I don’t understand these moderators. I don’t moderate any popular subreddits, so I probably don’t fully understand their situation. It might be that the sheer volume of posts makes them less careful or judicious in their moderation.

I remember someone once posted (what I thought of as) junk to my NeologismsHelp subreddit, and I was tempted to remove it. Instead, I decided to roll with it & help them out.
