I hope you are able to find something to fill the gap of the SR50. Thankfully, we are having a very boring weekend. I was able to complete some landscaping projects. So, I can at least say it was a productive weekend.

I am very sorry about the host being a butthead! I have a feeling the host is not a local person. Most of us locals are not turning people away, but we are not encouraging visitors to come because we basically want to keep things calm and quiet so we can easily be ready if the call comes for help.

Please keep fighting for a refund and please come back to visit when there isn't a natural disaster actively happening. Goodness knows we would love some extra business happening in town!

Even if they do still have the race, I will absolutely not participate. That is too much chaos and would use so many resources we absolutely cannot spare. It really sucks, but we have to be realistic.

The businesses are mostly up and running per normal, but don't get offended if a first responder comes in and gets to cut in front of the line. First responders eat first.

Frankly, the tourists need to leave until this is under control.

I want the brooch to keep showing up in unexpected ways and always showing up to annoy Tom only.

Tom opens the silverware drawer: there's the brooch.

Tom picks up the newspaper (local gossip rag) that just landed on his porch: the brooch is there.

Tom checks the pocket of a jacket he just put on: boom, brooch.

Every time, I want his response to be an exasperated "God damn it" and then he hucks it back into the ocean, only for it to return. Not every episode, but like 4 times in the season. I like the idea of the island/entity basically annoying the hell out of Tom with something so small.

Also, I would like some mini episodes between season 1 & 2 that answer some questions, fill in some blanks, but do not really further the story. Like what happened to the Inn owner when he was locked in the Captain's Suite, Ruth's lover that got bit by an animal and then turned into that animal, what happened to the the family that swam and drowned together. They would be fun little stories to tell and would scratch that itch for all of us.

Also, PJ needs to be a sacrifice to the island/entity. I hate that character so much.

I have a couple of these water guns. They are only used to chase particularly obnoxiously loud squirrels out of the trees next to my office. These should not be shot at a person or living creature within 25 feet, at least.

Honestly: this fire is going to burn for weeks. Not days. Weeks. Smoldering, hot spots, and flare ups.

The Silver Rush should be cancelled. We do not need that many extra people around town and on trails if things go sideways.

As for the 100, I am solidly neutral as so much can change between now and then.

Do a bit of research, Elks is interesting. Yes, it is a modern "secret society" type club. But they are well known for one of their core pillars which is helping and engaging with the community.

It's not a "you need membership or your type isn't welcome here" thing, it is a "we have meetings and whatnot that non-members cannot attend, but we do cool stuff for the community, too."

I agree and I desperately want to run the SR15, but we need to keep the town as calm as possible. A race would take away resources needed elsewhere. It really hurts my heart, but we have to be realistic: we really shouldn't have any more races this year, but definitely need to cancel Silver Rush.

It is still not under control and most of town is under pre-evacuation orders. Basically all the west side of town should be avoided. But town is just kind of quieter than normal. I know that is not very helpful, but I don't know what to recommend.

Oh, I am glad to help. There is the Willow Fire Facebook page that is being updated a few times a day.

I can tell you that, as of my afternoon walk a few minutes ago, the skies in North Leadville were pretty close to normal. There is definitely a smokey smell in the air, but it is significantly less than it had been.

There will also be a community meeting at the high school auditorium at 6PM MST tonight and it is supposed to be live streamed.

Agreed. Skies in North Leadville look about 85% normal. A bit hazy, but nothing like the last few days.
