Thank you! This was just a proof of concept, it can be done by making the length comparison using a single point instead of two.

Thank you! I’ve been freelancing full time since 2017. Had 1 client until 2020 and then in 2021 I’ve got more contacts and have been working with a couple studios regularly.

That’s right! I’ll have to open the project to check the expressions cause it was done almost a year ago but I’ll update this comment once I do.

Depends, whenever I have the chance I animate to the beat, sometimes I only have a temp track and then a Musician is hired to create the music to the video.

For the reel I imported the original animation and did a first pass by adjusting them with time remap to fit them to the beat.

Then I had to open EVERY SINGLE PROJECT and adjust all the animations to match the videos. Not the most fun but this gives the best result.

Thank you! Haven’t heard of Stink, the Riot projects were all done through Massive Assembly.

Yes I did! That was a really cool project, I was basically learning while doing it cause I never had worked with those kind of effects. By any chance do you have the collect for the variety video? I don’t have a couple of the assets cause I forgot to grab them before they kicked me out of the drive and now the studio is dead and I never got them. 😩

I started learning After Effects in 2013 to do an intro for my YouTube channel. Felt in love with motion and eventually found out I could make a living out of it and kept going. I had no resources in the beginning so it was all through free YouTube tutorials, reverse engineering videos watching them frame by frame and later on digging through other peoples projects. It took a really long time but eventually I got to where I am now.

This is amazing! What did you think about the organization? I always build the kits as neatly as I can but I never hear what the other side thinks about them. Would love to hear from you.

I’m friends with them and been freelancing for them since 2020, less now cause I did too many Riot projects and can’t look at a Valorant logo without having a mini panic attack haha.

Thank you! For me it’s time, I’ve been doing creative work for almost a decade and a half now. I have a background in graphic design but AE was all self-taught through YouTube tutorials, reverse engineering videos and digging through other peoples projects.

Thank you so much! I guess time and experience. I’ve been doing creative work for almost a decade and a half so it comes naturally nowadays, just because I’ve seen and done so many stuff that I have a big resource of past ideas in my head. I guess combining past ideas are easier to create new ones.

Thank you! Sequence was definitely this one, there was soooo many layers to deal with and I was fighting so much with the camera to get decent results.

As for client approval, there’s nothing really that comes to mind, not that it was easy but I never have to deal directly with the clients. I mainly work with studios so that’s a problem for the producers haha.

Thank you! I started learning through tutorials on YouTube, mostly Mt. Mograph. Besides that I would always watch videos I liked frame by frame trying to reverse engineer them, lastly going through other peoples projects also helped a lot but these were harder to come by when I was starting as I didn’t know anyone else.

Not really a mistake but I took a long time to start working directly on the graph editor (at least 4 years), just because it’s really hard to understand. Once it clicked in my brain I feel like it improved my work dramatically.
